Austin College
University Information
Austin College's Center for Global Learning facilitates Semester Abroad Studies and JanTerms. If a student would like to spend a semester abroad with Austin College, the he/she should stop by our office (Wright Campus Center #204) to begin the process. It is extremely important to go through the process in the office, otherwise the College will be unable to send the student's financial aid to the program and the student will need to withdraw from Austin College during their semester or year abroad. The Center's goal is to make each student's experience abroad a meaningful and engaging experience. In order for that to happen, students are required to go through the process in place at the Center.
We look forward to working with you and please read about other student's reviews and experiences at the different programs and locations that can be found at Abroad101.
Important Dates and Deadlines
As of right now, there are no firm deadlines in place for you to complete the Abroad101 Survey. However, before we can post your transcript from your sojourn abroad, you must complete the Abroad101 Survey and interview with the director (Truett Cates).
Thank you very much for your help and cooperation with this. We look forward to hearing about your time and experiences abroad!

"Before I went to Argentina South America seemed to be almost this forgotten vestige of the world. It's seems so separate from the US, Eurasia, and Africa. But now it seems such much closer, so much more open and I really want to travel and become acquainted with more South American countries."
Bryan B Austin College
"I gained many leadership skills by participating in the program. I look at the world in a different perspective then when i did before leaving. There many problems in developing countries world wide, that many Americans are oblivion to. By participating in a non-American culture, it opens up your eyes to the cultures all around ..."

"Studying abroad was definitely fun, but I wouldn't really coin it as a life changing experience. Honestly it really just felt like a glorified vacation. It was a blast, don't get me wrong, but the University was easy, and I didn't really face too many great challenges that I had to overcome."
William N Austin College
"I wish it had been longer. The only thing I missed for real was my family back home. I really got to see the French view, and understand their manners of thinking, as well as the stereotypes we have in the US on France - some are true, and I now understand how others developed. And, with all my notes and readings, I got to le..."

"Traveling to Mexico has changed me in ways that growing up at home in United States could never do. I don't worry about my future anymore, because I am confident that I can do anything I want. Living in Mexico was a pleasure but it also taught me that life is hard. Yet, I don't stress about things as much as I did in the past. M..."

"Berlin is definitely one of the best cities I have lived in my life. Every week there is a festival, a concert, a parade or something going on. There is so much culture in Berlin that one is able to try something of every country. For example, I decided to learn Portuguese and take capoeira lessons. It is great to know that ther..."
