I learned so much about French culture and French people. I was surrounded by people who loved to learn the same language as I do and they were just as excited as I was to dive into our studies and life in Grenoble. The people in my program made the trip worthwhile. Sarah C - Trinity University View Entire Review
On top of the obvious language knowledge, I was able to gain more self confidence in my ability to function outside of my standard environment. Being able to travel on my own was especially gratifying and exciting. Now I am 100% certain that I could travel around France and properly communicate with the locals. You learn more about yourself, your priorities, and what it means to be an American. I learned to step out of the bubble that was my life by being in a different country, surrounded by people that I had never met and with whom I had very little in common. It was 100% worthwhile. My experience was incredibly worthwhile, without a doubt. I am more open minded now than before. It is very hard to describe the exactly what I gained from this experience. I can now speak enough French to talk with my family (many whom speak French). But more importantly, I have gained a whole new sense of self-confidence. Zachary W - Trinity University View Entire Review

I learned to relax, slow down, and live everyday to the fullest. Before going to France I was stressed and too focused on reaching my goals. While I still have these goals I've taken a step back and am perusing in a different, less stressful way. Niki K - University of Hartford View Entire Review
I learned French, more about the French culture and life style, and what it means to be French. It was very worthwhile, I am actually returning to France in the Spring with a different program only because the new program offers an internship aspect to it. I gained a better understanding of myself from study abroad. I gained confidence in my language abilities, but more importantly I understood that I could do anything. About
The setting of this alpine city is what truly makes it unique. For a panoramic view of the city and surrounding mountains, take a ride on the téléphérique, or cable car, to the Fort de la Bastille. From there, explore the hiking trails and the Grottes (caves) that were used as a defense many centuries ago. With a student population of 60,000, Grenoble is an ideal place to learn French. The slower pace of the city and the friendliness of the inhabitants make it easy to practice the language with locals. The city has several museums, numerous parks and plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities (skiing, hiking, biking). For the avid traveler, Grenoble is an excellent starting point for exploration, situated only three hours from Paris by high speed train and very close to Switzerland and Italy.
