A student studying abroad with API (Academic Programs International): Madrid - Antonio de Nebrija University
I gained a better understanding of myself and the world around me. I also gained fluency in another language, something that will be very beneficial for me in the future. Additionally, I gained friends from Spain and all around the world, with whom I will stay in touch for many years to come. - Texas A&M - College Station View Entire Review
Absolutely. I was sad it had to end. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I developed my Spanish skills infinitely and made some friends for life, both American and Spanish. Because of this I am a more confident and independent person than I was when I left. I hope to live there someday, at least for a little while. - Trinity University View Entire Review

I learned to be open to new experiences. I also learned that knowing a second language or even just trying to speak another language is valuable skill. My time abroad was all worth it. - Hartwick College View Entire Review
A student studying abroad with API (Academic Programs International): Madrid - Antonio de Nebrija University
It was 100% worthwhile, I wish I had stayed for a full year. After 5 months I started feeling very integrated with the country. My Spanish improved immensely, and feel I could have continued improving my language and met even greater people with an extra semester. I gained independence, knowledge of a new language, a new cultur... - University of Hartford View Entire Review
My study abroad experience taught me cultural sensitivity and independence. I learned to live on my own while speaking a non-native language--not an easy feat. - University of Houston View Entire Review

About

Spain’s capital since 1561, Madrid is the contemporary capital of Spanish culture, finance, and industry. A large, international and cosmopolitan city, Madrid is a city of possibilities. It boasts incredible monuments and museums, including the Museo del Prado, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Museo de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando. Visitors cannot miss the Iglesia de San Isidro, once the cathedral of Madrid, or the Palacio Real. Madrid is also known for its fountains and elaborate parks, including the glorious Parque del Retiro. The energy of Madrid is in its street life and warm people. To study in Madrid is to experience more than a classroom – it is to experience the history of Spain and its people. API gives students the chance to live and learn in this fast-paced capital city.
