"It was an invaluable experience to take courses that weren't from a US-centric perspective, and to experience living outside the US. I learned so much both in and out of class."

"From my experience abroad, I learned how to live in a different country and culture, as well as how to learn and study in a new academic environment. I discovered what I like and dislike about academics, which has helped me narrow down what I hope to do in the future. I also made some very close friends, who I will continue to s..."

"It sounds very cliche, but I definitely gained independence from this study abroad trip. Going into it I was excited but also very worried that I would feel lonely, being many miles away from my family and really anyone that I knew. I learned that it wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be to make friends and put myself o..."
Maura Sticco-Ivins Wellesley College
"I learned so much about Spanish and European culture, and even a little about Moroccan culture. I also learned some things about myself and about Wellesley. I have seen a society that is able to function without constant stress, I knew it existed, and I hope to emulate it, but I know it will be even more difficult for my Wellesl..."

"Absolutely. I gained a sense of calm and confidence that I didn't have before. Traveling on my own gave me a sense of independence and that I can handle whatever life throws my way. Living with a host family gave me a new appreciation for work/life balance and a determination to maintain it I haven't had before. "

"I learned that study abroad programs are really catered towards a particular student. I also learned that a lot of Americans are ignorant about global issues regardless of how much they learn inside the classroom. This particular study abroad program really tried to integrate the American students into its culture and I also saw..."

Liliana Mayorga Wellesley College
"The most valuable thing I learned during my abroad experience was learning to be independent. Navigating a large city on my own and exploring unknown things really helped me learn that. It was definitely worthwhile because not only did I experience living like a Londoner but I also got to visit 7 other major European cities in t..."

"My experiences abroad cannot be sufficiently summarized in just a few paragraphs, but I'll do my best to share the highlights. Edinburgh is such a unique place and is at a pivotal moment politically (with the September 18th Scottish independence referendum coming up). As an American abroad in the UK, I thoroughly enjoyed my time..."
