I really loved the tutorial system (very small class sizes, discussion-based). Through this structure, I was able to go very in-depth into niche subjects I was interested in. It was an absolutely worthwhile experience A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how to consume and synthesize large amounts of literature along with drafting up essays very quickly. The experience also taught me how to interact in a very international student body, with many students at different ages and on very different academic tracks and experiences than my own. It also taught me how to be an... Isabela V - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I learned how to learn advanced physics by myself. I found the culture at Oxford unique and memorable. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I've had a lot of time to self-reflect and mature as a result. I've had to face my inner demons head-on as well and really struggled with feelings of inadequacy for a while. Nevertheless, the experience was really important to my self-growth and I think I've learned a lot as a result. I've had a change to work on my weaknesses, ... First of all, I haven't seen such a long reading list for one week.... It intimidated me in the beginning of the year; however, I could find myself getting comfortable with the materials and actually enjoyed for some interested topics. And the tutorials were very helpful because I was able to ask all the questions and interact ... A student - Brandeis University View Entire Review

I made some wonderful friends and connections as part of my year abroad at St. Peter's College. The educational system took some getting used to, but by the end of the year, I felt very comfortable with my schedule and levels of extracurricular involvement. I gained so much in terms of living alone, and taking a big step by myself. I grew so much in terms of independence and taking risks. I definitely think it was worthwhile - if I could go back, I'd do the same thing again! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned a lot about the Brisiths academic system. A student - Brandeis University View Entire Review
The academic system at Oxford is immensely customizable, and I took multiple one-on-one courses with one Computer Science professor who got to know my learning style and pace very well. Michelle Quin - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how big the world is and it was all worthwhile. Karekin Johnson - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I have learned to study independently, to write quickly, speak about my work with confidence even with people who are far more knowledgable about the topic than I am. To admit when I don't know something, that there is no shame in this, and to look for ways to remedy this, rather than to cover it up. I feel like I have learned s... I gained independence and my writing skills greatly improved. A student - Brandeis University View Entire Review
The unique academic system at Oxford was perhaps not ideally suited to learning a science subject, but that being said the experience of one-on-one tutorials with leaders in the field was definitely enriching and worthwhile. Medeea C Popescu - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Given the amount of freedom I had, learning to explore what I'm really curious about and read and write rigorously was valuable. Extracurricular activities and social life were also excellent. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
From my experience abroad, I learned how to live in a different country and culture, as well as how to learn and study in a new academic environment. I discovered what I like and dislike about academics, which has helped me narrow down what I hope to do in the future. I also made some very close friends, who I will continue to s... I got the chance to have great conversations with brilliant professors about books i actually wanted to read. I made friends from all over the world. I got to live in a somewhat thriving city, in a beautiful area, with amazing people. I learned how to write more efficiently and forcefully so that i could finish my work and have... About
St Peter's was established in the 1920s to provide an Oxford education to those who otherwise could not afford it. We remain committed to attracting and supporting students with the capacity to flourish here - regardless of background or financial means.
St. Peter's is proud of its Visiting Students Programme. It has been running for many years, and is one of the most successful in the University. Not only is student feedback positive, but many of our former Visiting Students return to do their graduate work at St Peter's and at Oxford. Tutors consistently welcome the fact that Visiting Students participate actively and successfully in both the academic and social life of the College. So not only do Visiting Students benefit from their time with us; the College also benefits from their presence, their enthusiasm and international outlook. We make every effort to integrate our Visiting Students with our regular undergraduates, and to foster the programme's central role in College life.
