"I made lasting friendships, learned a lot from local students. It was absolutely worthwhile because South Africa is an amazing country. "
Natalia Marques Wellesley College
"I learned how to be independent. I learned how to be on my own. Sometimes being alone without my friends from Wellesley made me sad, but all in all, it was very worthwhile, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. "
Ifunanya N Wellesley College
"I definitely gained a greater independence. I now feel completely comfortable traveling on my own and trusting my instincts when it comes to foreign places. I have had to navigate certain situations that I feel have equipped me for the real world in many ways. "

"I learned a lot about myself by being abroad. Though I'd been to Europe before, living here was a different experience. I got to live independently, fend for myself, and make friends from many different places. Traveling was definitely a highlight and I got to go to Sweden, Russia, Czech Republic, Scotland, Austria, Hungary, and..."

Joanna X Wellesley College
"I loved being centrally located in London. The city itself is just so amazing with so many things to do and see! I had so much fun exploring the city around me. I had a great time at UCL. I liked my coursework in EU Politics and IPE, which I didn't have back at my home institution. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to be more independent and crawl outside my comfort zone. Although I struggled personally during the program, I don believe it was the fault of the system, and so I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to study abroad that have not studied a second language enough for immersion programs. Edinburgh is a fanta..."

"Traveled a lot (dubai airport was very close), joined a lot of cultural groups (Global Day was absolutely amazing), ate some great food, explored a metropolitan side of the Middle East that is often forgotten. "
A student Wellesley College
"Definitely worthwhile. The 8 week term is very intensive but there is so much to gain from this experience. I became a much better writer and self-learner, which are skills that I could definitely translate to courses at my home institution. I had lots of free time due to the small amount of tutorials I was enrolled in, and I le..."

"Throughout study abroad in Melbourne, I was able to experience a completely different but engaging method of academics and teaching while staying in apartment accommodation and managing my expenses for myself, which collectively made this a beneficial and diverting study abroad break from my home college where I learned a lot ab..."

Deirdre O Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile: I made leaps and bounds in my French abilities (which was my goal for going abroad). However, I didn't really enjoy Aix as a city and would have preferred going somewhere else 2nd semester."
A student Wellesley College
"Absolutely worthwhile. I gained a much more critical perspective on the US and on Americans (and I already had a critical perspective). I learned too much to even begin to pull together in this box."
A student Wellesley College
"My program taught me more than I could have imagined about my host country, and put me in touch with people who I'll be in contact with for a long time. It was a very worthwhile experience."
Elizabeth G Wellesley College
"I made really good (perhaps even lifetime long) friends. I am now looking into grad school programs for Chinese. I would like to go back to China and further my learning of Chinese. "
Rebecca L Wellesley College
"Yes, it was worthwhile. I learned to be more independent, find an internship abroad, and manage my budget."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to really value the small class sizes at Wellesley. I also learned to put myself out there when I am in situations where I don't know anybody! "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned a lot of math, first of all. I undoubtedly could have learned as much at Wellesley or MIT, but I learned in a different environment, so I appreciated that. I also got a lot better at cooking, and gained a lot of independence as well. I am confident that I could get myself out of a lot of bad situations in America, b..."

"Everything. Independence, language skills, friends, maturity, initiative. It was worthwhile, but if I could do it again I'd choose a program that encourages and allows for even more independence - maybe a direct enrollment program. But that's a reflection of my own desires, not a fault of the program. It does what it does well."
A student Wellesley College
"Budapest is AMAZING! Loved the city but wouldn't choose the same program just because I didn't love my classes. The professors weren't great (in my opinion). "
