Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

A student Brandeis University
"I feel a lot more confident in myself after living abroad. I learned how to enjoy time with myself, and I am more comfortable exploring new things."
A student Wellesley College
"I’ve already been an international student here in Wellesley, in this case the new abroad environment didn’t make me feel too unfamiliar and took too long to get used to. I still learned a lot about the new culture and unique history there, I thought everything I met was beautiful and it is absolutely a worthy experience for me."
Youyou L Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I had never lived in such an urban area before and it gave me an opportunity to learn how to manage everything on my own. "
WasedaBear Brandeis University
"I learned more about what I valued in not only classes, but friends, and just out of life. We get caught up in all the fluff of life; we never truly find ourselves until later, but it was great to know how to continue with my life from this point forward. "
A student Brandeis University
"Was able to travel, meet new people, and become more educated in European Politics and government. "
A student Brandeis University
"I learned so much about my particular areas of study (economics and history) and got to learn from so many different perspectives on my subject, especially given how renowned LSE's faculty is and how international the study body is. If you're looking for a transformative academic experience that will challenge your perspective, ..."

A student Wellesley College
"It was awesome!"
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to make myself stand out when there are 300 people in a lecture hall, which is completely different than Wellesley. I took classes with students who are incredible in their subject, coming into LSE as first-years already so knowledgeable and only growing as they continue their studies. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was great getting the opportunity to always talk to a professor or expert in their field one on one. I think I developed my writing skills in a way I hadn’t touched on at Wellesley. It was worthwhile but at times felt stagnant especially if a class wasn’t content heavy."
Tsering L Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about myself and how to fully immerse myself in an experience. It was a good exercise in independence and finding my place in a new environment. "
A student Wellesley College

"I learned from industry professionals and gained a unique perspective on computer science."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to trust myself and I gained independence, as a student and as a traveler. I think it was very worth it, I came back as a more self-assured person with a ton of cool stories of riding camels in Morocco, hiking up to Sintra in Lisbon, and frolicking up Arthur's Seat in Scotland."
Skye B Wellesley College
"Study abroad is great for traveling but also to experience life as an independant student "
A student Wellesley College
"Friends, new cultural experiences, best time ever"

Elena A Wellesley College
"Besides the course material? What it means to live in a space the size of a town, to exist locally. Can be a bit of a luxury for those who primarily grew up in automobile societies. Everything else is too personal to disclose."
A student Brandeis University
"I learned a lot about myself: my motivations, work-styles, travel-styles, the people I want around me, etc. I also learned essay-writing skills."
