Overall Experience
I learned a lot about living independently in a country without having any knowledge of the Hungarian language. The language barrier did help me develop social skills (speaking, body language, etc.) I also made new friends with different backgrounds during the program, which is always amazing. - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I got out of my comfort zone and had a great time exploring and being in Europe for the first time. The classes were the perfect amount of rigor, where I didn't feel stressed but was learning a lot. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Definitely worthwhile. I learned what it's like to actually be responsible for cooking for myself. I learned to avoid WizzAir (AVOID WIZZAIR!!!) and that RyanAir isn't as strict about its baggage size limits as it pretends to be. I traveled internationally by myself, navigated public transport in all sorts of languages, learned ... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned how to live on my own in a completely new culture, which was definitely worthwhile, although I wouldn't say this is the best program for complete "cultural immersion". - Middlebury College View Entire Review

A student studying abroad with Aquincum Institute of Technology / AIT - Budapest: Hungary - Creativity in Computer Science & Software Engineering
AIT is truly the best option if you want to study abroad as a computer science student. You will take classes of a similar level as your home university and get credit for them, while still getting to explore a different culture. I could not speak more highly of this experience, and encourage anyone interested to apply! - Tufts University View Entire Review

I was able to take courses that weren't offered at my university, such as Computer Vision and Mobile Software Development. About

Tailored to the needs of North American computer science and software engineering undergraduates in their sophomore through senior years, AIT offers semester-long programs to bridge the gap between the world of academia and business. Classes are taught in English by eminent Hungarian professors, most of whom have had teaching experience in North American universities. Teachers closely monitor each individual student's progress. Considerable time is devoted to problem solving and encouraging student creativity. Emphasis is on depth of understanding rather than on the quantity of material. The academic program is based on a philosophy of small and intimate classes, close collaboration of students and faculty, and hands-on work through group projects.
