Yes! I really enjoyed learning philosophy at Oxford and making friends. I learned to be more open-minded. Bridget S - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I mainly proved to myself that I can consider higher education opportunities and lab opportunities abroad and I will be able to adjust to new standards expected of me and will be able to do well independently. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I definitely learned to be more self-sufficient and a better student. It was definitely worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My classes were more theoretical compared to my home institution's classes, so it helped me become more skilled in proofs and foundational thinking. Ziyue Qian - Wellesley College View Entire Review
This experience and the tutorial system changed my way of approaching coursework. The tutors really pushed us to the extent of our academic capacity, and I found the coursework to be very demanding. I also learned a lot about myself and realized how much I am able to provide for myself and thrive in a new environment. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My self-teaching, reading and writing abilities all improved immensely so it was worth it. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I gained so much from this program, and most of that derived from the fact that the visiting students were very separated from the undergrads. I would usually describe myself as an ambivert with the heart of an extrovert, but the head of an introvert. It's very hard for me to be self-motivated to meet people and, initially when ... The experience was worthwhile but if I had to do it again, I would only go for a semester, not the year. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
The tutorial system really helped me with my humanities major, however, it was really dependent on the assigned tutor. Crystal L - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes, the experience was surely worthwhile. Since the system allows for a lot of self scheduled time, I was able to master time management, hone my research and essay skills, while also leaving room for learning beyond the scope of my major. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I loved the independence of my time abroad and also appreciated the ability to really study texts in a rigorous manner. More than anything I loved being able to go on walks. Port Meadow is a favorite. I would also take advantage of the university-wide libraries. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I had a very well-rounded experience from St. Anne's in regards to my education, social life, and cultural awareness. I feel that I am now more prepared to handle challenging courses at Wellesley thanks to the preparation Oxford has given me in becoming a more independent, proactive learner. In terms of my social life, I was abl... A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Oxford's academics trained me to improve my time management skills. Other than the once-a-week tutorials, I was completely on my own and had to strategically pace myself. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
From my experience abroad, I gained a new/broader perspective on linguistics. I learned how to read with a critical eye. I also learned a lot about myself - what I like and what I don't like. My experience here has also influenced my consideration of my future career, so yes, I would say that it was worthwhile. Phoebe Lee - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I grew up overseas, so moving there wasn't too difficult nor was assimilating. What I think was particularly valuable was reminding myself to pretend to be confident even when I'm not. I think that is a key in life in general. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was *definitely* worthwhile, and I do hope to be able to go back for graduate study. Among the things I gained from my year at St. Anne's is probably the experiential realisation that learning is far more enjoyable when it is conducted within an academic system that stresses in-depth, consistent work as well as in-depth discu...
