A college experience I envisioned! August 06, 2022

By (Economics, Wellesley College) - abroad from 01/17/2022 to 06/18/2022 with

St Anne's College, University of Oxford - Visiting Students Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes, the experience was surely worthwhile. Since the system allows for a lot of self scheduled time, I was able to master time management, hone my research and essay skills, while also leaving room for learning beyond the scope of my major.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • Self scheduled time
  • Routine work
  • Discussion based classes
* What could be improved?
  • More tutorials with discussions based on our work
  • Slightly more responsive professors
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? It is easy to have the illusion that you have a ton of time to work on your assignments, but very often, you require all the time and effort to finish your work. Check the syllabus for the pre requisites of the courses you are taking. For example, calculus in your home university might cover more or less topics than the calculus course at the study abroad institution. It is important to be well prepared.
