Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"Yes the experience was fun."

"Absolutely, my perception of how cultures function outside of the US was an eye opening experience. Denmark is a perfect example of how socialism can work, which was completely contrary to my beliefs before my study abroad experience. The woman are beautiful, the city is gorgeous, the people are extremely friendly (and most of..."

"Absolutely. Going abroad was the best decision that I made in college. I wanted to go to Australia, but that didn't work out, but Israel exceeded my expectations. I became much more independent and my self-confidence grew significantly while I was abroad. I'm definitely more away of the political climate in the Middle East and n..."

"I wish I could have studied abroad for more than just a semester. I loved the city I was in and it helped me greatly in my history major and in my understanding of other cultures. "Would consider working, doing grad work in S. Africa for some time. Being there, such a different place than America, makes you realize that its all real. Everything you see on TV, hear about- the good, the bad, the beautiful- it all exists in S. Africa and if you go there, you couldn't miss it even if you hid in your room all s..."

"My study abroad experience was extremely worthwhile. It helped me to figure out a lot of things about myself and about my wants and desires. Traveling to another country and being immersed in a foreign culture will make you re-evaluate yourself and your world-view. It is an invaluable experience."
Graham N The University of Texas at Austin
"Yes, absolutely. I learned a lot about myself while studying abroad. I think I am more in touch with my true self, and necessarily more independent. It has made me realize, however, that I would not want to settle down far away from my family. "
Nidhi S Columbia University
"The opportunity to study abroad as a student was such an amazing adventure for me. I spent 4 months studying Neuroscience in Sydney, Australia and every single thing about my program exceeded my expectations, as did the location and kindness of the people who helped me along the way - both at ASC and abroad. Learning in a classr..."

"My study abroad experience was completely worthwhile, but I would definitely do a different program or make sure that I was much better prepared the next time around. I was part of the reason that my experience was so frustrating and better preparation would have helped me immensely. But I still say, do it and own your experienc..."
Ashlee F Austin College
"I had a great time. I had spent time in the city of Oxford before, so the culture was not new. It was a great experience to spend such a prolonged time in a different country, though. "

"This program reassured the fact that I want to live and work in Africa. The lifestyle fit mine perfectly, and things that are important here are not so important in Southern Africa.
