Yes. My language skill improved greatly and I had a really good time immersing in the Japanese culture.

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Living with a host family is the best way to improve my everyday Japanese. I love my host family.

* Food:

I love authentic and homemade Japanese food, and eating with my host family is awesome. I hardly missed any dinner at home.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I was able to fully immerse in the culture since all of my friends at school are Japanese, and since Japanese universities have a lot of holidays, I basically traveled around each month with my friends.

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Japan is a very safe country. I felt perfectly fine taking a walk outside at 2am.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Japan, especially Tokyo, is very expensive. Use the money wisely so you can travel around!

I spoke Japanese with my teachers, my host family and friends everyday. I hardly spoke any English.
