Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I met amazing people. I got a unique perspective on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. I visited places that are holy to people of many different faiths. I had an amazing time. "
Marisa E The University of Texas at Austin
"200 % worth while. I wish I could have done the program for an entire year. Met so many international people, not just students from the UK. I learned how to be an American in an international setting. I learned that everyone is different but in many ways everyone is the same. Friendships and friendliness are things that will la..."

"I matured, learned how to handle myself independently in a place completely out of my comfort zone, and navigate and troubleshoot situations that I never faced before. I definitely feel prepared to tackle many more adventures and challenges in my future. "

"I grew so much as a person and learned a lot about myself and the world around me. It was not always easy (the culture shock was intense) but I wouldn't take back the experience for anything. If you really want to challenge yourself and mature, this is the program to do. Travel as much as possible, too!"

"The trip was an extremely worthwhile experience: I learned about China, and I learned more Chinese than I ever could at home. The experience taught me that I would not want to live in China permanently, but that staying in China even once is a necessary component to knowing the culture and the language."
Julia S Trinity University
"I learned so much about the Italian culture as well as my independence. This experience was priceless and worth more than any amount of money to me. I wouldn't trade the world for my experience abroad. I loved every minute of it. The culture, the people, the food, and the knowledge I gained while I was there."
meredith.gettler Santa Reparata International School of Art
"I learned that there is more to the world than just the little part that I have seen. Being in a different country forced me to grow up and figure things out on my own. Also seeing different cultures makes you appreciate them much more. "
A student John Carroll University

"From my experience abroad, I learned how to live in a different country and culture, as well as how to learn and study in a new academic environment.
