"I gained new friends, new sights, new ways to make myself feel at home, love for travel and new perspectives about the world. Coming into the experience, I prioritized my academics, but while there were enriching academic experiences, there was also so much adventure and wondrous nature views abound. Definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile!! I learned how to build a community of like-minded friends and peers even in a space where I know nearly no one. My experience at Spelman showed me that I can thrive in a new environment. Definitely go for the entire year if you can, and if not, go during the fall - that's the more fun semester acc..."

"I gained important independence and language skills, which were very worthwhile."

"I gained a lot of friends from my time abroad, and London is a big melting pot of different cultures, so I was able to learn about these different cultures, not just about London. It was very worthwhile as I was able to create friendships in my dorm, in my classes, and even when traveling to other cities and countries."
A student Wellesley College
"Due to the lack of information about the program from my home institution, it was not so fun when I realized the gap between where myself was at and the expectation, nor the fact that I could not get enough credit transferred back. I would say that instead of academics, I learned the most about how to effectively communicate to ..."

Karen O Wellesley College
"I got the opportunity to meet a lot of people from across the globe which I really appreciate. I was also able to visit places I hadn't previously explored. London is also very well connected to other places in the UK and Europe which makes it easy to travel. "
A student Wellesley College
"I felt that I had a far better understanding of Denmark's history and culture, and how it differed from the US. As a poli sci major, two of my courses had a lot of learning specifically around Scandinavia, so I don't know how applicable that would be to other majors. DIS reserves Wednesdays for "field studies" and schedules two ..."

"I learned what intellectualism, activism, and local organizing can look like outside the U.S. I also gained many parallels between social issues in the U.S. and Argentina, which enables me to put into use so much of the knowledge I gained from members of the community in Argentina. "
Jade Y Wellesley College
"Being able to live in another country for an entire semester and immerse myself in the school and the culture was a once in a lifetime opportunity, especially doing so in Trinidad and Tobago since this is the first study abroad program Wellesley is offering in the Caribbean. The global, and specifically Caribbean, perspective I'..."

"Take whatever you think you know about a country you haven't experienced firsthand and put those beliefs behind you. No matter what you read, hear, think, or research about Brazil - you will be utterly surprised and taken aback when you actually experience the country with your own eyes. The northeast of Brazil, in particular, i..."

"Had a lot of fun, learned about maritime culture/history/policy, ultimately had a pretty decent experience, honestly just wanted to get off campus."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained so much from this experience and again do not regret it. It was extremely valuable. The administration could have been different, but that does not change the fact that my experience in Brazil was more than worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to manage my time well and I got to attend cool seminars and events at my host school and at the nearby schools"
A student Wellesley College

Annalee Beaulieu Wellesley College
"While I didn’t find the program overly challenging, it was most definitely immersive and hugely helpful in improving language skills."
A student Wellesley College
"Was pushed intellectually in one-to-one tutoring sessions. Was able to travel cheaply through Europe during breaks. "
A student Wellesley College
"I gained a LOT from going abroad and emphatically recommend it to anyone thinking about it. I learned about who I was outside of being an academic, which was really important new information that I wouldn't have received at my home university. "
A student Wellesley College
"I gained more confidence in speaking/getting to know more people, gained more social confidence, and overall I was able to become a more free/happy person. The experience was unlike any other but it was only because I put myself out there and took the initiative to travel and explore, it is very easy to be lonesome at Jacobs and..."
