"I learned how to take time for myself which was important and something I hope I bring back to Wellesley. "

"The most valuable aspect of studying abroad in London was learning to live independently. Budgeting, cooking, and time managing are some of the skills I developed during the semester. I would say I now feel more comfortable living on my own, adjusting to an urban setting, and balancing my time --the experience was definitely wor..."

"Yes, definitely worthwhile - learned how to travel efficiently and balance this with school"
A student Wellesley College
"This experience affirmed my passion for field work and research. I made the most amazing friends and went to so many beautiful places. The academics could be challenging at times, but I never felt too overwhelmed. Wish I had been able to explore some of the places we went to more sometimes, but was often hindered by the amount o..."

"Being able to live in the center of London. "

"On top of improving my language skills and gaining a new appreciation for Wellesley, I feel like I have become more confident and independent. I am more comfortable being uncomfortable and putting myself out there."
Alexei Girod Wellesley College
"I learned how to be self sufficient, explore countries where I didn't speak the language, and how to cook for myself. It was absolutely worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College

A student Wellesley College
"I went outside my comfort zone, and now my comfort zone is larger. I learned how to be grateful while others complained, and things don't have to be perfect to be invaluable. It was important for me to enjoy Germany, and I was happy to soak in their cultural quirks. In the face of adversities, I gained independence and resilienc..."

"I learned about a different culture, a new language, how to surf... Of course it was worthwhile!"
A student Wellesley College
"I gained more confidence in myself and my Spanish ability. It was definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"I was able to improve my Spanish skills significantly (especially a stronger confidence to speak, writing speed, and comprehension ability) I also felt more of a confidence of existing in a city alone. Sounds weird, but Cordoba is a safe city and small city, so it feels nice and welcome to go to a cafe and drink tea alone."
Sabina Unni Wellesley College
"I feel as though my language comprehension improved dramatically during my time abroad. It was 100% worthwhile and I would do it all over again if I could. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned that Oxford is an atypical study abroad experience. If you want to travel to 10 different countries during the semester, then this probably isn't the place to be. However, if you want to integrate into a new community and embrace all of the resources available to you, then Oxford is the perfect university to attend. Ma..."

A student Wellesley College
"Besides improved language skills, I appreciate that I got to experience a different aspect of Brazilian culture that isn't often featured in US media. Minas Gerais is very different from Rio. It was worthwhile!"
Danielle Wellesley College
"I felt like I learned how to live on my own in a city environment. I also learned a lot from my flatmates about how this experience differed from their experience in their home countries. I also liked being able to take classes in subjects that weren't offered at my home university."
A student Wellesley College
"I gained independence--I learned I was capable of taking care of myself for long periods of time without my parents (I usually study close to home and shamelessly take advantage of that fact). I got experience meal planning, cooking, shopping, doing my own laundry, and cleaning. I learned a lot of new physics and significantly ..."
A student Wellesley College
"I really gained a greater appreciation for the diverse ways people approach and live life. And I think this experience clarified for me that health is the field I want to enter."
Elizabeth B Wellesley College
"I gained a lot of independence, figuring things out for myself without friends around. "
A student Wellesley College
"I think a clarity and confidence about myself and my goals as well as a firmer perspective on the many different women of color navigate social spaces both here and abroad. "
