"It was absolutely worthwhile! I made great friends and studied in a completely foreign culture. "
A student Wellesley College
"While abroad I decided to change one of my majors to French, although I do not expect to pursue a career in this department. I really came to appreciate the French lifestyle and culture, and the American education system while I was abroad. I loved my experience, loved all the things I saw and new places I got to go. It was a gr..."
Natalie B Wellesley College
"Yes, I learned a lot about myself, had a great time, and learned a lot. By the end I was a little sick of being abroad, and this had never happened to me before, so that was interesting. My cultural awareness was heightened, and the program fit with my interests, so that did not change. "
Nicole K Wellesley College
"I learned how to navigate everything on my own, pay bills, deal with social security and insurance..."
Celine L B Wellesley College
"I love being in London for a year! It was AWESOME! There are lots of opportunities, so many attractions and the city itself is so diverse! I absolutely loved it and would study abroad all over again if I could! Also, the Study-Abroad administrator for SOAS - Sophie - was great and always helpful with everything!"

"Yes, it was worthwhile."

"travel was great, definitely recommend it. i recommend staying the whole year, half a year isnt enough to get to know the city and settle in."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned about what kind of city makes me happy. What factors are important to me in terms of quality of life (eg. fresh farmer's market versus good shopping nearby). The importance of public transport. I also learned what kind of student I am on a "global" level. It was interesting to have the comparison with French studen..."

"Independence, international exposure, city living."
Amanda F Wellesley College
"I really enjoyed my stay in Hungary. While I probably will not continue on in math, I gained a lot of valuable mathematical insights from the classes. More importantly, I developed a fondness for travel in Europe and, as an almost direct result, am applying for graduate schools in Europe to continue my education and travels ther..."

catherine p Wellesley College
"Yes. French culture taught me to enjoy life instead of just tolerating or surviving it, to see it as an art instead of a task to complete. "
Yakun X Wellesley College
"Yes, it was very worthwhile. I gained a better understanding of myself and how to live on my own, and how to adjust to new places. I hope to move back to London someday, and I now feel well-equipped to do so because I know the city pretty well. In studying abroad, I wanted to test myself to live in a foreign country for a year, ..."
Amelia I Wellesley College
"Yes, I felt it was a really wonderful opportunity to live in a different culture and lifestyle for a year. It allowed me to carefully think about my future plans, away from the pressure-cooker that Wellesley can be at times. "
Michaela W Wellesley College
"My study abroad experience gave me a new perspective on my studies at Wellesley and deepened my academic interests, mainly because of the regional focus of the program. I gained a fuller appreciation not only of my host country but also of my Wellesley experience and developed a clearer idea about my postgrad plans which might i..."
Mihaela G Wellesley College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I understand a bit more about how people interact and I also became more knowledgeable of myself. It has impacted my future plans because while before it was a shadowy possibility, I now want to return to the U.K. and will be applying for jobs there. After going abroad for a year, I know that I ..."
Sarika N Wellesley College
"Yes, definitely. There are just aspects I would have changed, particularly after hearing about other students' experiences."
Alethea D Wellesley College
"Australia is not that different from the United States in terms of culture. The people however are more relaxed and seem to enjoy life more and stress out less than people I have met in the northeast. My time there showed me that though work is very important, its also just as important to make time to relax and have fun. I hope..."
Jahanara A Wellesley College
"Yes, it was definitely a worthwhile experience. I improved my french skills and gained independence. "
Student R Wellesley College
"It's an amazing experience, I grew a lot as a person and realized how happy socialism can make people. This program is great because you travel a lot and you're exposed to many different Southeast Asian cultures, which you cannot get everywhere. "
Teresa L Wellesley College
"I learned that I am able to live independently. It was a fun experience as well, to be away from the stressful environment at Wellesley."
A student Wellesley College
