"I don't regret it because I explored different cultures and learned a whole new language, but I definitely think I could've had a better one."

"I learned the most when I was traveling, but not all students will have the privilege to do this, so for the general middle or lower class student population, I do not think that this program in particular is worthwhile. There was also hardly any support system for students of low income status. Everyone seemed to just assume th..."

"Not really. "

"I gained new friendships that I wouldn't have made had I not gone abroad. I also learned a lot about the way I, along with my culture, are perceived on an international level. "

"My Japanese improved significantly, and I have a much deeper understanding of the culture and the country's history. It was worthwhile, but if I could go back in time I would have chosen to study at another university or program, perhaps Ritsumeikan or Kyoto University. I did not feel like I was surrounded by bright students, an..."

"Worthwhile, but there's a lot I would have done differently. Paris is definitely the best place to study in France, but I would have done it with a program other than Sarah Lawrence. Their courses and academic rigor were nothing compared to Wellesley's."
Simone T Wellesley College
"I would not consider it worthwhile. I learned about a new culture and got to see a cool city, but I would have preferred to have visited on my own time instead of while studying abroad."

"I learned how to deal with a sex offender abroad. "

"I'm glad I went, but UCL was not a good fit."
A student Wellesley College
"It was the hardest thing that I have ever done and I discovered so much of my own strength and identity but i was in a mentally poor place the entire time and did not feel supported."
A student Wellesley College
"Yes it was worthwhile. I learned how to live on my own in a foreign country, as well as valuable traveling skills."
Darya K Wellesley College
"I got an international experience, especially in a medical context, which I was happy about. It was worthwhile because I'm not sure if I would have had this opportunity otherwise. I do wish that the program had been better fleshed out and that the administration was more supportive"

"Lock your door. "
A student Wellesley College
"I really loved the trip to Costa Rica, the excursions, the residential staff, and the program director. My main issue is that I felt trapped in the University of the West Indies, did not enjoy campus life/ the classes/ the academic culture and did not feel integrated into a local community. A homestay may have helped or more ac..."

"I learned how to cope in an environment without my primary support system. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to live in a huge, international city. I learned how to get through a very tough situation while alone. I learned a lot about myself, like that I shouldn't move to a foreign country where I don't know a single person. These are worthwhile lessons, but at a steep cost."
A student Wellesley College
"Morocco and Rabat itself are fantastic; please direct-enroll into Mohammad V University if possible."
A student Wellesley College
"Language acquisition and Brazilian historical knowledge. This program was not worthwhile and if I could do it over again, I would stay on campus. Please note that I have studied abroad internationally before as well as lived abroad in southern Africa for 2 years; my negative experience with this program was not due to difficulty..."

"My French improved. I was able to take better notes in class and speak it more fluently. But being an international student, I've already seen the culture and knew what to expect in France, so the experience in Paris and Aix didn't really fascinate me. "
A student Wellesley College
"I had the irreplaceable experience of making a 16mm film from beginning to end of the process. It was worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"It is an experience I would not regret having but I wish there was more support systems. "
Yanqing L Wellesley College
"I improved my Spanish skills, and I gained new friends. "
Elvy Yang Wellesley College
"The most worthwhile experience was being able to work in the dialysis clinic. "
A student Wellesley College
"I did improve my french! Now I can understand most spoken and written french. Also I've improved my writing greatly. I can hold conversations with french people without much difficulty. I still have a long way to go with grammar but I'm happy to have made the progress. I think it was helpful and eye-opening. I was definitely ..."

"I have witnessed quite a bit of personal growth and find that I am thriving back at Wellesley due to my motivation to not relive last semester. I think the most important qualities that I cultivated were confidence during confrontation and self-advocacy. "
