SEA will break you down but maybe in a good way November 04, 2019

By (Wellesley College) - abroad from 09/24/2018 to 12/21/2018 with

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was the hardest thing that I have ever done and I discovered so much of my own strength and identity but i was in a mentally poor place the entire time and did not feel supported.

  • the lack of emotional and social support
  • we didnt feel well held, we were anxious and scared but bc that was normalized there, no one helped
  • the cliquey feelings of your small floating island wherever it may take you
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I don't wish I knew anything more about it because I may not have followed through with it and then I would have missed this whole experience.

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
