"I think more than anything I learned academically (who knows if I'll use italian after graduation), I learned how to be self-sufficient. I was removed from family, a familiar setting, and friends. I learned how to be a better communicator (in italian and in general), provide for myself (cooking/cleaning), and I made it through t..."

"I am now an independent person. I can make and keep a budget, prioritize my work and fun, make lasting friendships, travel alone, and just generally be a real adult. I even know how to cook now! "I realized that I am a lot stronger than I thought, and I have a lot to be confident about. I learned that I can be independent, and if all fails, I have a future in baking cookies (which were my comfort food of choice). It was 100% worthwhile, and I would recommend it to anyone."

"Most definitely. I now know that I need to live in a large city full of history. I know what kind of people I want to be friends with in the future. I have friends all over Europe and am much more aware about politics and cultural interplay. "

"This program came at a personal cost but I would without a doubt participate again. I learned so much about the Italian culture and the people in this country that I could not have learned in any course.
