"I learned a lot about different types of people and cultures. It is definitely worth it. "

"It was definitely worthwhile. I learned that had I prepared more thoroughly, my first month or so would have probably been easier. But I also knew that I had a learning curve and though it took awhile, once the language clicked, it really felt like I had begun to truly internalize Arabic."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned so much, how to lead, how to sail, working in close quarters with different people and as a seamless team, as well as how to make decisions in unique situations. Also the science experience was really helpful in determining what I want to do after college "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how differently my programs could be taught. UK programs encourage students to read a sea of documents. They give a very good survey of the current literature. But the paper or project topics are not as flexible as in the US. "
A student Wellesley College
"The dean of the Moscow Art told us that after our time there, we will think of our lives in two parts: our lives before Moscow and our lives after. He did not lie."
A student Wellesley College
"Oh, it was positively worthwhile and I learned a lot. I gained international experience and some new friends. I learned a lot about a new culture and a little about a lot of other new cultures. I can speak Spanish well now. I'm proud of myself."
Kate C Wellesley College
"I was able to improve my French language skill abroad. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was an invaluable experience to take courses that weren't from a US-centric perspective, and to experience living outside the US. I learned so much both in and out of class."

A student Wellesley College
"I learned that I can make a home anywhere"
Hailey Sweeney Wellesley College
"I gained a greater self confidence living and traveling by myself, especially in places where I don't speak the language. I really enjoyed getting to spend time just wandering in Edinburgh, and in other cities I visited. I learned how to adapt to new environments."
A student Wellesley College
"Beyond gaining many new wonderful friends and experiences, one of the biggest things I gained through this program was confidence in my ability to live alone, integrate successfully into new situations and cultures, and make the most out of opportunities, all of which this program challenged me to do. "
Marley Forest Wellesley College
"I learned so much from my non-American friends about the world, so worthwhile"
A student Wellesley College
"Studying at Oxford was the best academic experience of my life, and I made several fantastic friends, both locals and other abroad students. I gained a tremendous sense of independence and confidence in myself personally, socially, and academically, which I know will change the remainder of my academic experience for the better."
A student Wellesley College
"Definitely learned a lot just about globalization and colonialism simply from being in Senegal and that is incredibly valuable. Gained new friends and another family, and definitely improved my language skills (Wolof was a lot easier than I thought, and my French oral skills definitely got better)"
A student Wellesley College
"I learnt the cultures of the local people by spending time with them during buddy network events and visiting family time. It was a really valuable experience."
A student Wellesley College
"Learned how to adapt to a new culture and way of life, as well as how to survive in a Spanish-speaking country"
A student Wellesley College
"I greatly improved my language skills and learned how to find and build a community for myself. It was definitely worthwhile."
Mara1 Wellesley College
"I learned so much about the French culture and people. What Aix lacked in its academics it more than made up for in the quality of life and the joie de vivre of the people. It was definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"This past semester at DIS was a truly life-changing experience for me. I learned a lot about myself and the world. DIS stresses the point that the best experiences will happen outside of your comfort some, and they could not have been more right. I was challenged in so many ways, but had the time of my life through it all."
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to be independent and do almost everything on my own; the ease of transportation makes this much easier than at Wellesley. It was worthwhile, but I really missed my friends that graduated while I was abroad."
A student Wellesley College
"I would 100% say it was worthwhile! I gained independence. I traveled completely alone for the first time. "
