Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? About $125, mostly on food and transportation. Often times more.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Look at exchange rates beforehand, but know that they may change and don't be fooled by them. Really take some time to think about how much money you might spend a week. This may be hard if you've never lived alone before.
