You really are challenged, but in a good way that makes you think in different ways and on different levels. Socially, I met some really great people, maybe not friends for life, but we got along and had some really..."

"absolutely! i learned a lot about how to study and i'm more independent, and it prepared me for the busy senior year i have ahead of me"
Julia T Providence College
"I gained a stronger sense of independence. I also gained the confidence to know that I can meet new people and just join a new culture. I loved the English style of "reading around the subject" because it allowed me to pick which areas of the course I was most interested in and it held me accountable for my own work. "

"I think I've learned a lot about myself, my values and what I want to do in the future from this experience. I also am very proud of how well I know Spanish now and I hope to continue speaking it after I leave the country."
Lauren B Providence College
"Yes...I learned a lot more about myself. I came back with a lot more appreciation for my home life as well. It has impacted my cultural awareness a lot, but has no changed my academic interests or future plans"
Meaghan W Providence College
"I feel far more culturally aware and also loved the opportunity to study and live around pieces of art that I will spend my life writing about and examining. At the same time it was strange to see this historical city filled with clubs and a dedication to less than intellectual activities."
Rachel W Providence College
"My study abroad experience was unbelievable. I cannot believe I traveled where I did and met all the people that I met. Without a doubt it will be something that I never forget."
Matthias C Providence College
"The worst thing about the study abroad experience was the PEOPLE in the program. We just didn't click.. people coming to study in Paris are just not people I would hang out with at home. It was an absolutely amazing experience being here and doing the program, I just would suggest looking up the people you'll be studying with be..."

"the greatest impact on my time abroad has been the community service aspect. i had no idea what i wanted to do after college, but after having spent time in the classroom, i would love to teach english in a spanish speaking country.it was tough work, but so rewarding at the same time. "
Sigourney C Providence College
"It is amazing how much someone can learn outside of the classroom when studying abroad, the internship showed me the way of international business and just getting to know the international students in my foyer expanded my knowledge of geography, politics, and point of views immensely."
Marilyn V Providence College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I learned a ton about culture, myself and just living slightly out of your comfort zone. Traveling most weekends gave me the opportunity to see many places I probably would have never otherwise seen. Academically it made me much more awake of European nations, cultures and how they view Americans. "
Christine B Providence College

"I learned so much from my time in Barcelona. I experienced new things and learned a lot about myself. It was my time to become more independent and confident in myself. I was able to use my Spanish and become more confident in speaking with other people. I definitely can see myself moving to Barcelona after college and working..."

"Never did I think I was going to be exposed to so many different cultures, race, backgrounds, values or personalities. I had some of the craziest yet best experiences of my life- experiences I would have never gotten had I stayed at PC this spring. I was too cooped up in the college bubble- so ignorant to world issues and the im..."

"Studying abroad was the best thing that I have done thus far in my career. It was a great opportunity to learn about new cultures and develop an appreciation for these cultures. I became more independent and confident as a person and learned more about myself in 4 months than I ever have previously."
Ericka K Providence College
"I became much more independent and much more open to different ways of thinking. I have never been in a non-religious school, so the BU london was a first for me. I could definitely see the difference in behavior. My cultural awareness was greatly increased because i had an internship. This is the best way to learn about a cultu..."

"I gained a different understanding of the United States and different countries of the world. It impacted my cultural awareness because now I know there is a different way to live life, that our way of living life may not be the best way and through cultural interactions we can learn a different way to live from the traditional ..."

"Absolutely worthwhile. I am really happy I chose Denmark because it allowed me to see a part of the world that not too many people see or even think to see. It was really neat having essentially one study abroad program within Copenhagen, allowing us to have 700 kids in our program and have a unifying thing! "
Kylie M Providence College
"I learned to consider the beliefs and opinions of the Italian people. One must strive to gain a worldly perspective on international relations in order to become a well-rounded individual. "
Michael L Providence College
"I am so glad I had the opportunity to go abroad. The experiences I had were incredible, and I would highly recommend it for any student that has the chance to do it. "
Christine S Providence College
"Yes. It taught me a lot of personal things about myself, my limits, my abilities, my strengths and weaknesses...it challenged my limits definitely. It increased my independence. I have always been interested in fighting for women's rights and gender equality but that interest has been magnified by my experience. It helped me to ..."
