What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
My study abroad experience was unbelievable. I cannot believe I traveled where I did and met all the people that I met. Without a doubt it will be something that I never forget.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The program coordinator was extremely helpful and always available. She frequently answered questions and gave advice for me. Program was a good size. My expectations were met.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

bullfight, Feria, Las Fallas, Morocco

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

If you were smart and did not get too drunk to where you were an easy target there is no problems. Sevilla is a relatively safe city although those types of events do occur.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I knew I was going to be spending a lot of money on traveling. People don't realize how quickly all the small things add up- you need to be careful of that.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

Home stay family.

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Barcelona and Madrid are more cosmopolitan/ international while Sevilla is what you would imagine a Spanish city to be like. In Sevilla you actually have to learn how to speak Spanish because you have to speak it there- which is a very good thing. Do not travel anywhere during Feria, it will change your life. Go to a bullfight. 90% of host families are awesome and much more rewarding than living in an apartment with other Americans.
