Past Review Urban Blow Out SIT Study Abroad: IHP - Cities in the 21st Century: People, Planning and Politics

"I went into the program being most interested about one thing (urban planning) and left knowing that I have to do something completely different (community organizing and youth work). This experience helped me to understand what it was about Urban Studies that truly interested me--and it was the people side of the coin, not the ..."

Past Review Environmentally Friendly Australia Made Me Feel At Home! SIT Study Abroad: Australia - Sustainability and Environmental Action

"Australia is very similar to the United States. There is still materialism, consumerism, capitalist markets and so on. Their histories are very similar also, with the English exploring the land, chasing off or socially integrating the Indigenous, as well as changing the landscape. So by learning more about the way Australia came..."

Past Review Sit: South Africa SIT Study Abroad: South Africa - Multiculturalism and Human Rights

"MY ABROAD EXPERIENCE WAS DEFINITELY WORTHWHILE AND I WOULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN IN A HEARTBEAT. MY EXPERIENCE IN SOUTH AFRICA TAUGHT ME TO BE MORE ACCEPTING AND OPEN-MINDED. SOUTH AFRICA ALSO MADE ME MORE INTERESTED IN POLITICS BOTH DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL. "

Past Review Rural Kenya: Not For The Faint Of Heart, But You'll Leave With New Eyes For The World Around You. SIT Study Abroad: Kenya - Global Health and Human Rights

Past Review Not Much Culture Shock, Still Worthwhile SIT Study Abroad: Switzerland - International Studies and Multilateral Diplomacy

"yes it was. I learned alot, but to me personally, I would have wanted morem of a culture shock. The Swiss culture wasn't much different from American Culture. In that respect I would have wanted a different location, but apart from that, I had a good time. "

Past Review Study Abroad In Kenya Was Enriching, Intellectually Stimulating, And Difficult SIT Study Abroad: Kenya - Global Health and Human Rights

"My study abroad experience was worthwhile in ways that I cannot fully describe, probably ever. Choosing to study abroad in a developing country is a decision that is courageous, I think. Going somewhere that reveals your status as an upper-upper-class WORLD citizen (as opposed to your status as an American citizen) forces you to..."

Past Review Valparaiso Is One Of The Best Towns Any College Student Could Ask For SIT Study Abroad: Chile - Cultural Identity, Social Justice, and Community Development

"Definately. However, I would have liked some more academic interaction with people from my houst-country. One thing that really stands out in this program is the 2 week North/South excursion.
