"Being abroad in Iceland was an incredible experience. I loved the traveling and outdoor components of this program. I have never seen anything like Iceland's landscape--it truly looks like a different world. We were often able to go on hikes or explore on our own, and I felt incredibly immersed in nature throughout the program. ..."

"My experience abroad taught me to look at the cultures I am a part of more critically. For the most part, life in Madagascar is vastly different from the U.S., and there are aspects of Malagasy culture I believe Americans could benefit from replicating. My experience has inspired me to consider and change my behaviors and values..."

"I learned a lot about the geopolitics of the region. I also learned a lot about Arab culture that I did not expect to learn. Lastly, I learned about myself, being constantly pushed out of my comfort zone was a great opportunity for growth."
Simon A Occidental College
"Not only did I gain knowledge of public health, indigenous medicine, and the Spanish language, but I gained new friends and connections that expand to places I had never thought before. The people I met alone make the experience worth it. "
Liam F Washington University in St. Louis
"Again, it's difficult to summarize just how much I gained and learned. I feel I left the program a different person and with a greater understanding of my academic interests. From the combined experience of excursions and the independent study period, I gained greater confidence to live and conduct research in foreign places. Ul..."

Julia C Wellesley College
"Studying abroad was worthwhile because it gave me a different perspective on what I've been studying in the USA. While it didn't completely change my views, it showed me that I had many similar beliefs to those around me back home. However, abroad, I had to adjust to different cultures and perspectives on international matters. ..."

"In addition to my language skills hugely improving, I learned about the patience, persistence, independence, and openness it takes to go to a fully new place alone and learn how to live there. I also gained a new perspective on sharing with people around you and was very inspired by the societal friendliness there. Though my exp..."

"I gained an immense amount of knowledge from he program. Despite being Mexican American and having been to my state of Jalisco, the culture in Oaxaca is like no other. We hear so much information about the border these days, but once you are there, standing looking at the wall in Arizona or the families crossing from Guatemala, ..."

"I can't emphasize enough how good this program was for me. It pushed me gently outside of my comfort zone and supported me the whole way through. I leaned into the support and opportunities provided -- which I had to choose to do! it wasn't all due to them -- and came back to the U.S. a more fully self-actualized person than I w..."
