Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"My reading/writing/critical thinking skills improved significantly."
frances.s.wang.5 Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile, I learned to be a more independent and strong person. I was thrown into a country I didn't know with no one around to help me, but I made friends and created a second home!"
Ben B University of Northern Iowa
"I learned that no matter where you are from all human beings are the same deep down. However, cultural and societal norms do play a big role in influencing behavior. Something that might seem totally normal to an American (Drinking my cappucino on a tram), might seem totally absurd to an Italian. Where as in America everythin..."

"I learned how to be more independent and responsible! It was so worthwhile!"
A student Illinois State University
"I gained a great deal of things: the learning experience of living on my own, the academic and cultural lessons from the university and the local towns, the opportunity to travel to Europe in general, the great deal of friends of different cultures, and the chance to learn more about myself. Definitely worth every effort, penn..."

"London is a wonderful city, and of all my experiences over the year, the only thing that made me pleased with my decision to study abroad at UCL was being able to spent the year wandering London. Walking through the parks, exploring museums, and setting off with an end destination in mind without having plotted a course (getting..."
A student Wellesley College

"It was so worthwhile to study abroad!! It challenged me so much and I grew so much as a person. I learned so much about Spain and the world. It's hard to explain how much living in another place changes you for the better. :) "

"I learned a tremendous amount about Eastern Europe, often simply from causal conversation with my fellow students. The chance to live in an environment where I could meet students from numerous countries over the course of my day-to-day activities was such a great experience that really expanded my horizons. Attending AUBG was u..."
A student University of Maine at Orono

"Studying abroad is the most important thing that I can recommend to any college student. You will gain world experience and get out of you comfort zone. Studying abroad helped me to see outside of my Mississippi bubble and look at art in a new way."
Mickenzie R Mississippi State University
"Not to be afraid to branch out and try/explore new things, whether it is with your friends or independently. I enjoyed exploring London on my own as much as I did with a group of people. I became much more open to different experiences and grew much more as an individual and supporting myself while studying abroad."
A student Fairfield University
"I learned that I can ignore bullies, but also that I can stand up to them and make sure they know they cannot pick on me. I've learned to depend on myself and not on others for help. "
A student Santa Reparata International School of Art

A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to deal better with bureaucracy and do business with banks, etc and become more independent in those aspects. Also gained more experience with booking flights, hotels, and making travel plans."

"During my time abroad, I was able to learn a lot about British culture as Cambridge is about as British as it can get! I loved walking through the town of Cambridge-it is quite idyllic.
