My comprehension improved greatly, as did my confidence in speaking. I also was able to read a lot, which helped to improve overall comprehension-although it took a lot longer to complete my reading. VERY worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Improved my French skills, met lots of cool people, learned a ton, traveled a ton, had a great time anne.corbett.16 - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes! Living with a host family was the best experience. I learned other ways of living and my French really really got better. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I found myself surprised and sometimes shocked at French people's attitudes on things, which made me appreciate my own culture so much more. I do think it was worthwhile because it gives you a different perspective on how foreigners are treated outside their country. Being somewhere where people do not speak your first language ... I learned that I am able to live independently. It was a fun experience as well, to be away from the stressful environment at Wellesley. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Better level of French, worthwhile Julia P - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned so much about the French culture and people. What Aix lacked in its academics it more than made up for in the quality of life and the joie de vivre of the people. It was definitely worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My experience abroad was definitely worthwhile. Living in a foreign country was absolutely wonderful for learning about a new culture first-hand. Even if it may seem cliche, it honestly was able to offer me a new perspective on life and the world. Living in a different country and culture and being surrounded by a different lang... N.B. I said I wouldn't choose the same program not because I hated WIA, but because I was deciding between WIA and Sciences Po Paris and think that Paris might have been a better fit for me. The program was certainly worthwhile, but I felt like I wasted a lot of time. Maybe that's because I get really irritated whenever I fee... A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Absolutely worthwhile. I learned a tremendous amount about living on my own, how to take care of myself, and how I react to new situations. The language immersion was wonderful, which I didn't think I'd enjoy before I left for France. The courses at the FAC were an experience, probably most useful for highlighting differences in... My French improved immensely, I learned and incredible amount about French culture and "la France", I became more independent, and I got to live in Europe for 6 months. It was totally worthwhile! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I made so many new friends I would've never made around Europe if I stayed home. I loved exploring the foods and cultures of all these European places I"ve only read about on the Internet. It was truly the best experience of my life! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My french improved greatly (fluency and understanding), I was exposed to a different learning style in the French university system, and I made many valuable and important connections. It was 100% worthwhile! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review

I gained lots of independence, learned a lot about myself, had a lot of downfalls, grew stronger as a person, and learned how to cook. It was worthwhile. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I learned so much about France that I cannot fit it all in this box. I learned French history, which allowed me to understand the French more. I watched TV shows that gave me talking points with my neighbors and host parents. I traveled and got to experience different cultures that put into perspective the differences with Frenc... It was worthwhile: I made leaps and bounds in my French abilities (which was my goal for going abroad). However, I didn't really enjoy Aix as a city and would have preferred going somewhere else 2nd semester. A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
