Overall Experience
It was just so incredible to have the opportunity to spend a semester away! Aix was great, and we got to learn and experience a lot of new things. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was absolutely worthwhile. Although one of the things I learned from it was that I don't want to live in France again, I learned a lot about myself and was able to evaluate my culture and other cultures from a new viewpoint. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was most definitely worthwhile. Not only did my level of French (spoken and written) improve greatly, I learned a lot about myself during my year abroad. I became more self-sufficient and confident and made lasting relationships with people I would never have met otherwise. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Studying abroad was so much more different than just living abroad. I met some incredible people both from the States and from Europe, and hope to keep in touch with them in the future. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review La Belle Vie
YES. I became independent and a lot more mature. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I had too much free time and felt lonely there. I traveled a lot around Europe but I wouldn't go back to Aix. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I found studying in Aix was helpful in improving my language skills and understanding different cultures. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I would not trade my time abroad for anything. I had left with the intention of becoming fluent, and for all intents and purposes, I now am. No study abroad program and no foreign country will be perfect, but WIA and France came pretty close. I would love to go back to France again and explore the towns and regions that I was no... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes!!!! I learned so much about myself during this year abroad, from my personal learning style to how I actually do like vegetables if they are fresh and locally grown! I also learned so much about French culture and way of life, and I have really learned to slow down and enjoy what I am doing each day. I was also able to remov... - Wellesley College View Entire Review

My cultural awareness was already pretty high, and it didn't influence any future plans, but I had fun. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile because of all the support I received from my program. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
While I did not necessarily enjoy all of my time abroad, I learned an incredible amount about myself and others and was provided with opportunities that I may never have again. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
LOVED this program. I also feel like taking a step back from college in the US has really let me appreciate my school more. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was absolutely worthwhile. Although one of the things I learned from it was that I don't want to live in France again, I learned a lot about myself and was able to evaluate my culture and other cultures from a new viewpoint. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Loved it - I have a better understanding now about what it's like to be a foreigner in a new country where you need to work at understanding the language and culture. I added a French double major after this program because I have developed a better appreciation for the French language and would like to continue this in my studi... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Yes. I improved my French and became more confident using it, gained a better understanding of my own culture as well as French culture, and learned how to live independently as an adult. - Wellesley College View Entire Review

Yes. I am much more confident speaking French, and understand French Culture and American culture much better than I did. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
definitely; I would love to visit France again and I am still keeping in contact with my friends from Aix - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Europe is awesome. I learned more and had more fun while traveling in Europe, and would do more traveling if I did it again. I'd also be more out-going and force myself to make more (French) friends. With this program, a lot depends on the people you're with. I feel like I understand the French fairly well- and don't necessaril... - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I loved being abroad, it was fun and provided many opportunities to travel around Europe. The program was well run although the french university was not very challenging. I would say that this program is more about experiencing the french culture and less about academics. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Past Review Aix En Provence
Yes, studying abroad was definitely a worthwhile experience and even a year later I look back on my experiences very positively and feel like what I learned about myself and others there still benefits me today. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I'm really glad I studied abroad but the experience at a French university had made my academic expectations clearer to me. - Wellesley College View Entire Review
