Yes, it was definitely a worthwhile experience. I improved my french skills and gained independence. Student R - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I advanced my written and oral abilities with the French language, and learned how to live on my own in a foreign country. I gained the confidence that I needed to be a success in whatever path that I choose moving forward. A student View Entire Review
LOVED this program. I also feel like taking a step back from college in the US has really let me appreciate my school more. Kara L - Wellesley College View Entire Review
It was absolutely worthwhile. Although one of the things I learned from it was that I don't want to live in France again, I learned a lot about myself and was able to evaluate my culture and other cultures from a new viewpoint. Laura D - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Loved it - I have a better understanding now about what it's like to be a foreigner in a new country where you need to work at understanding the language and culture. I added a French double major after this program because I have developed a better appreciation for the French language and would like to continue this in my studi... Europe is awesome. I learned more and had more fun while traveling in Europe, and would do more traveling if I did it again. I'd also be more out-going and force myself to make more (French) friends. With this program, a lot depends on the people you're with. I feel like I understand the French fairly well- and don't necessaril... Lauren C - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I loved being abroad, it was fun and provided many opportunities to travel around Europe. The program was well run although the french university was not very challenging. I would say that this program is more about experiencing the french culture and less about academics. Sarah B - Wellesley College View Entire Review
My writing improved dramatically, as did my vocabulary. It was also a great experience to live on my own in an apartment. It was definitely worth it! A student - Wellesley College View Entire Review
While abroad I decided to change one of my majors to French, although I do not expect to pursue a career in this department. I really came to appreciate the French lifestyle and culture, and the American education system while I was abroad. I loved my experience, loved all the things I saw and new places I got to go. It was a gr... Natalie B - Wellesley College View Entire Review

It was most definitely worthwhile. Not only did my level of French (spoken and written) improve greatly, I learned a lot about myself during my year abroad. I became more self-sufficient and confident and made lasting relationships with people I would never have met otherwise. Hannah M - Wellesley College View Entire Review
Studying abroad was so much more different than just living abroad. I met some incredible people both from the States and from Europe, and hope to keep in touch with them in the future. Amelia M - Wellesley College View Entire Review
YES. I became independent and a lot more mature. Maria P - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I had too much free time and felt lonely there. I traveled a lot around Europe but I wouldn't go back to Aix. Char J - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I found studying in Aix was helpful in improving my language skills and understanding different cultures. Susan M - Wellesley College View Entire Review
I would not trade my time abroad for anything. I had left with the intention of becoming fluent, and for all intents and purposes, I now am. No study abroad program and no foreign country will be perfect, but WIA and France came pretty close. I would love to go back to France again and explore the towns and regions that I was no... Yes!!!! I learned so much about myself during this year abroad, from my personal learning style to how I actually do like vegetables if they are fresh and locally grown! I also learned so much about French culture and way of life, and I have really learned to slow down and enjoy what I am doing each day. I was also able to remov...
