I learned about being on my own, I learned more about myself. I developed a better idea of what im passionate about. It was more then worthwile. Kara S - Trinity University View Entire Review
I learned how to be independent and plan trips where I wanted under a budget. I also learned more about city life living so close to Sydney. A student - University of Rochester View Entire Review
Going abroad was the best experience of my life. I cannot wait to get on another plane and go see another country. Going abroad taught me to relax, enjoy my life, and pursue my dreams. Jared K - Tufts University View Entire Review
I gained an understanding of different cultures and accepting different beliefs, whether I agree with them or not. I would have gone through a different program than IES, but enjoyed every other aspect of my study abroad experience. Studying abroad allowed me to experience a marine biology class right by the ocean, and has ope... James D - Hope College View Entire Review
Absolutely! While it didn't necessarily impact my cultural awareness as much as maybe some other countries would have, I still got to experience being on the complete other side of the world, and they DO do things very differently. I also feel that maybe others would have more of a cultural awakening if they haven't been anywher... Samantha F - University of Rochester View Entire Review
It was certainly worthwhile. It has motivated me to get abroad again in life and perhaps go back to Australia to work and live. It also increased my confidence. Knowing I can travel in the world on my own is rewarding! Christina K - University of Rochester View Entire Review
I'm definitely glad I studied at UNSW, and I really couldn't see myself studying elsewhere. I gained a few foreign friends who I am still in touch with 3+ years later. I gained some amazing memories from an incredible continent/country, and I also took full advantage of the free time I had to travel (I traveled to Byron Bay, M... Yes, it was definitely worthwhile. I now know I love to travel and that I want to do it more frequently. Australia does not present as big of a culture shock as other parts of the world, but the culture and beliefs still varied, were consciously noted, and I greatly value the new perspectives they have given me. Living on my own in another country helped me realize that importance of taking every moment that comes my way and to not let these opportunities pass me by. Kelsey R - Ithaca College View Entire Review
I have gained a more global perspective and have grown more independent. Michelle M - Ithaca College View Entire Review
Studying abroad was definitely fun, but I wouldn't really coin it as a life changing experience. Honestly it really just felt like a glorified vacation. It was a blast, don't get me wrong, but the University was easy, and I didn't really face too many great challenges that I had to overcome. William N - Austin College View Entire Review
I was given the chance to remove myself from my comfort zone and go to a place that I have always wanted to go to. My expectations were exceeded. I saw such beautiful things and tried new things. I was fortunate to travel so much throughout Australia and also to New Zealand. I would never change anything about my abroad experien... Dale L - University of Rochester View Entire Review
Studying abroad in Sydney made me realize that anywhere in the world is only a plane ride away. In 2009/2010 I went back to Sydney under a 1 year work/travel visa and lived and worked there. I am now in South Korea living and working. Neither of these 2 things would have happened if I wouldn't have studied abroad. It opened my e... Ellesse T - Loyola University Chicago View Entire Review
I loved studying abroad. I loved the friends I made and the independence of being half way around the world but still being able to communicate with home. I loved having the time to travel so much and to learn a lot about another culture that we barely ever hear about in the US. My university classes really helped me learn a lot...
