The most rewarding experience I gained from studying abroad was learning about myself; I learned that I am more capable, independent, sociable and adventurous than I once thought myself to be. Because of this, my study abroad experience was worthwhile. frcascardo - Fordham University View Entire Review
This entire experience was amazing. Although I was very homesick, I am so glad I made the leap and came here and stuck it out. I made some amazing friends, had some VERY awesome memories, and I will never forget this experience. This was totally worthwhile. A student - University of the Pacific View Entire Review
With a new culture comes a completely different way of thinking. Rather than judge someone based on your views try and understand why they believe what they believe. A student - Trinity University View Entire Review
i learned how to enjoy exploring on my own sometimes as not everyone is interested in what you want to do. i learned that sometimes you have to put your needs before others and do what will make you happy and enjoy your experience. A student - Brandeis University View Entire Review
I am very happy with my cultural experience. I got to travel, meet up with my friends from other countries, and ate awesome food. I learned a ton about french history, culture and language, and that was definitely a strength of the program. I had a hard time meeting other kids in the program that were not in my classes, so I wis... A student - Providence College View Entire Review

The distance from familiarity and complete engulfment into another very different culture caused me to reflect consistently on my life and how my interactions, and this of others, affect the world. I learned what to value in one culture and what to learn from certain values that did not correlate with my ideas. I learned how thr... A student - Trinity University View Entire Review

I learned a lot about myself. Leaving the American academic grind allowed me to decide my own schedule and goals without so much external pressure. I also improved my language skills greatly, which was fulfilling and great for a resumé. Studying abroad was completely worthwhile and I highly recommend it. Language skills, new friends, and I also learned a lot about myself. Definitely not the easiest semester for me personally but worthwhile. Taylor E - Fordham University View Entire Review
I think the fact that I made 0 French friends my entire time there says it all. Paris was a great place to study, but IES Paris is not a good program in any way, and I strongly advise against it. I had just done IES Tokyo and loved it so I was shocked that it was so different; I should have done more research. A student - Austin College View Entire Review

From this experience in Paris I gained a new perspective of the world and my life. Before I studied abroad I was unsure of what I wanted to do in terms of a major and minor in college. I learned a lot of french, learned a lot about a culture I had no idea about, and I learned about how to integrate myself when I don't know anyone/anything/am not even familiar with the language.
