This January program will take you through six popular wine regions where you will examine the individuality and expression of this uniquely French product. Coursework credit can be awarded in: Business, Wine Studies, Economics, and Geography.


  • Location based –  Located deep in French wine country, your journey and study will take you through the hills of France to explore and learn about the differences in people, landscapes, and culture. And, of course, wine!


  • Academic Based –  Speak directly with legendary winemakers, walk the vineyards, and learn directly from wine associations, retailers, and restaurateurs to fully experience the vast diversity of French wine. Wine studies wouldn’t be complete without tours and tasting, so get ready to for your palate to understand the French “Terroir” and marketability of regions, varieties, and styles.


  • La Vida Local – During guided city tours you will see the dazzling lights of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, get a tour of the Champagne House in Reims, taste the wines in Burgundy, enjoy the succulent chocolates at Valrhona, and meander around the outdoor markets in Aix-en-Provence. Understand wine’s place in French culture while you absorb and experience all that makes France tres bon!
France holds a long history of being center stage in the world with wine production. During your January traveling seminar you travel to the six wine regions, learning each producers novelty. Wonder how the global market of wine production has changed the production in France? You will experience first hand testimonials from winemakers, vineyards, wine associations, retailers and restaurateurs!  From the vine to the table you will be guided through the process and content of the French term terrior. 

  • Visit six spectacular French cities in 14 days

  • Study a variety of subjects with world-renowned lecturers

  • Tase exquisite French wines (paired with chocolates too!)

  • Take in the outdoor market while in Aix-en-Provence

This award is intended for students within the LGBTQIA+ community. Recipients will work in coordination with the CISabroad Marketing Team to develop a plan for sharing their story while abroad. Options may include photos, instagram takeover, videos, or a blog. Recipients will be expected to submit 5 - 10 pieces.

Candidates who meet the academic requirements will have their applications forwarded to the scholarship committee who will judge their application based on academic merit and a written essay. All scholarships and grants are only awarded to participants of CISabroad programs.

This scholarship is intended for students who are among the first from their U.S. university to go abroad on any CISabroad program. Recipients will work in coordination with the CISabroad Marketing Team to develop a plan for sharing their story while abroad. Options may include photos, instagram takeover, videos, or a blog. Recipients will be expected to submit 5 - 10 pieces.

Are you already #InstaFamous? Take it to the next level. Recipients will be required to take part in an Instagram takeover as well as provide content for other CISabroad Social platforms. Examples of content include, 20 high quality photos, and a short video about your experience.

Candidates who meet the academic requirements will have their applications forwarded to the scholarship committee who will judge their application based on academic merit and a written essay. All scholarships and grants are only awarded to participants of CISabroad programs.

There is no GPA requirement for these scholarships. Interested students should complete all scholarship application requirements and be sure to tell us why you want to be a CISabroad Photojournalist. Recipients will be required to maintain an online photo wordpress blog with at least 100 photos by the end of their program.

$100 towards a semester or summer program plus a $100 Amazon gift card to purchase a digital camera.

Possible considerations include, STEM majors, first generation college students, multicultural backgrounds, and many more. Recipients will work in coordination with the CISabroad Marketing Team to develop a plan for sharing their story while abroad. Options may include photos, instagram takeover, videos, or a blog. Recipients will be expected to submit 5 - 10 pieces.

$250

Recipients will arrange and participate in at least two volunteer opportunities while overseas and make a presentation, video, blog, or vlog on their experience upon returning home.

This award is given to students who are ready to dive deep and tell their story to the world! While abroad, recipients will learn to blog or vlog like a pro using either Wordpress or YouTube. When you return students will work in coordination with the CISabroad Marketing Team to develop a project that will be completed upon return of your overseas experience.
