Getting lost is the best part of exploring. Being in a country where I knew a little of the language, it was easy to get lost and turned around, but people were willing to help point us in the right direction. Also, Americans could care less about personal space. The only time I was ever shoved and not apologized to was on crowd... A student - University of Southern Indiana View Entire Review
I gained/learned a lot that I could probably write a novel on. So yes, it was more than worthwhile in my opinion. A student - Western Washington University View Entire Review
I was an incredible experience. I learned a lot about myself, through making new friends and trying new things. I was also able to improve my language skills, which was one of my goals. I would recommend studying abroad to everyone, it was an eye-opening experience that has changed my life for the better! A student - Western Washington University View Entire Review

This program changed my life. it sounds cliche, but I am not the same girl who initially boarded the plane to Japan. It brought new life to my textbooks and language lessons, and made me far more confident in my language skills. It was worth every penny, every stress-filed night, and every road-bump along the way. I don't regret going. I learned better ways to get around a city, how to avoid tourist places and I made friends that helped me learn their language. A student - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
I learned/gained so many things while abroad. Language, culture, new discoveries/growth of myself that I discovered, the list goes on. Yes, it was worthwhile. genna.daniel - Western Washington University View Entire Review
This has been my favorite study abroad experience of the three that I have had. I learned so much about Japanese culture, language, and society that I brought back to my home university and events. It has also impacted my academic plans in that I became much more interested in international affairs after participating. Amber D - Howard University View Entire Review
I gained a deeper understanding of Japanese culture because I was able to be part of it. Any lack of information about the Japanese Culture was filled while studying there. This experience will make it easier for me to make future plans involving foreign travel, especially back to Japan. Alejandro D - Portland State University View Entire Review
