In fact you will naturally have your Mandarin when you are learning this true Chinese traditional language with traditional life activities. 

You don’t need know any Chinese language in advance to learn the square characters of Han. 

Radically Understand True Chinese Traditional Cultural Values

Traditional Chinese culture was inherited for thousands years in traditional classical Chinese language by traditional teaching way, names "Si Shu"私塾, a special traditional Chinese private school. In this way, you could easily and effectively obtain the wisdom from true Chinese Culture. That is where you would open your own wisdom minds when you learn the square characters of Han汉. 

You will learn the true Chinese language in a traditional classroom, where you will also learn to follow traditional rules of the Chinese culture and codes of etiquette.

You will learn to write, chant and recite the classic Confucian teachings, including rhymed couplets, in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. 

There will be fifteen days of classroom education with culture visits in downtown, plus twelve days travel out of the city, outdoor experience to enjoy ancient sites and modern China today with the local people in Beijing, Shanxi, Shandong, Shaanxi and Henan provinces. The local people want to share the spirit of the traditional teachings passed on from the Saint masters. 

Although ChuShan Class of study-abroad is totally full culture and language immersion program, you don't need learn any Chinese in advance. In fact, it is much better if you don't know any Chinese, such as Mandarin.
