To enjoy your time there as its once in a life time. It is worth all the hassle of living in a different country apart from your family for 5 months. Experienced how catchment management and water management differs in Australia compared to the UK. Real eye opener to the probelms faced in an arid country, to one where water is almost taken for granted. I learned not to be afraid to try new things. I also learned that being social is easier than it seems. You never know the type of people you can relate to if you're judging them from the outside.
