Since coming home, I've been better with money and budgeting. I've been more empathetic to those in new experiences and culturally different from me. I've also been more appreciative of the people and opportunities around me, as well as brought home some new cultural traditions -- did you know, it's seen as a sign of respect to ... - Colby-Sawyer College View Entire Review

I have changed a lot. Its very eye opening to come to other cultures and visit countries that you've only heard about. The world is so huge, yet life is life wherever you go. People still go to the grocery store in Paris and wash their cars in Portugal. Being an American is something to be proud of, but you also have to prove yo... - Longwood University View Entire Review

About

Leeds, the fastest growing (and 3rd largest) city in England, attracts students, travelers and businesses with its culture, commerce and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Leeds has an international reputation as one of the most desirable cities in England. It is centrally located, allowing for easy travel to London and other British destinations. Historians have found traces of Leeds’ history as early as 627 A.D. Leeds is known as the “Commercial Capital of the North,” as well as, “Environmental City of the U.K.” (Its economy is among the most diverse in the U.K., and it is one of the “greenest” cities in Europe, with a greenbelt covering over 2/3 of its entire area. Landmark sites that define Leeds are Millenium Square, Leeds City Art Gallery and Leeds City Museum, Leeds Waterfront, and Turk’s Head Yard. The city center and Victoria Quarter offer a wide array of shops and restaurants.

Students who choose to study abroad in Leeds with API at the University of Leeds, will choose from a wide range of undergraduate classes open to British and international students. The University of Leeds operates on the British credit system. Two British credits are equal to 1 ECTS credit, which in turn is worth 0.5 U.S. credits; in other words, to determine U.S. semester credit equivalency from British credits, divide by four.

A full-time workload at Leeds is generally around 60 British credits per semester, (or approximately 30 ECTS, or 15 U.S. credits). As modules (courses) at the University of Leeds can equate to varying amounts of U.S. credit hours, all students should verify that they will complete the required amount of credit for their home university upon their arrival. It is advised that students choose at least one alternate for every module selected for pre-approval from their home university, to ensure that they have a full course load should there be any cancellations, time conflicts, etc. Students usually complete 3-4 modules per term, each valued at 10 – 20 British credits.
