Yes. I learned how the rest of the world lived, not just the American lifestyle. I learned to relax so much more and also learned how to live without the everyday comforts that I enjoy in the States. You gain so much more confidence and also learn to be an independent adult. Taking this opportunity will be one of the best you... - The University of Texas at Austin View Entire Review
It was definitely worthwhile. My perspectives have opened up in so many ways. Returning home now has showed me just how much I've grown up and learned; I see very few things the same as I did when I left. The world is a BIG place, and I feel so lucky and educated to have seen so many new parts of it. - Drake University View Entire Review
It was more than worthwhile. I feel more aware of the world, of Spain in particular. My confidence and communication skills have improved and I have a broader perspective of the world. The only downside is that now I want to travel the world -- but I'm still on a college student's budget! - Drake University View Entire Review
Yes, I am definitely more independent and self-sufficient. - Rice University View Entire Review

Excursions may vary per term but may include trips such as a 3-day visit to Gibraltar, Seville and Cordoba and day trips to Ronda, La Alpujarra and the beach town of Nerja on the Costa del Sol. Optional excursions may include a 3-day trip to Morocco and a 3-day trip to Madrid and Toledo.

AIFS Granada offers a for-credit internship program to give students practical experience in a competitive and global world. Placements are available in education, communications, web and graphic design, non-profit and more. The Spanish Language and Culture Program at the University of Granada is offered in English and Spanish, and Advanced Hispanic Studies is offered to students with advanced Spanish language skills. An optional Early Start Program is also available to students at all levels of Spanish, giving them the opportunity to adjust to life in Spain. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Summer students can begin or advance their Spanish language study with a 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 week session in Granada. Students choose from an Intensive Spanish Language Program or Spanish Language and Culture Program, with courses in art, business, history, and literature taught in Spanish. Choose from a variety of different sessions or combine sessions for a longer stay with more credits.

Granada, perched between the dazzling white peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the blue Mediterranean of the Costa del Sol, has a cosmopolitan air, but retains the feel of a small, welcoming Andalusian town. Traces of Moorish, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture can be found around every corner. Granada gives students the chance to be immersed in Spanish language, culture, cuisine and tradition in a city renowned for its cultural heritage and fusion.
