Spend a semester, summer or academic year in the charismatic and sophisticated city of Buenos Aires studying at the University of Belgrano. Courses are taught in English or Spanish, and no previous Spanish language study is required. Please visit website for program-specific details and eligibility requirements.

Live in a homestay as part of your cultural immersion with daily breakfast and dinner provided Monday through Friday. Homestays are located within the best areas of Buenos Aires such as Belgrano, Recoleta and Palermo and are within easy commute of the university by public transport. A shared apartment with other University of Belgrano students is another housing option (meal plan not included).

You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as guided tours of La Boca and Recoleta Cemetery, tango nights and mate get-togethers. A day trip to Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Uruguay, is included. Optional excursions include a 3-day trip to the famous Iguazu Falls and a 2-day trip to a traditional Argentinean gaucho ranch.

Semester students choose from two programs: Latin American Studies with Spanish | Immersion Program (with local students). Students have the option of an Early Start Intensive Spanish Language and Culture Course to improve their Spanish and prepare for the semester. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

Summer students can begin or improve their Spanish with intensive Spanish language study. Choose from a 4, 8, 9 or 13 week program, taught by the School of Language and Foreign Studies. A team of native Spanish-speaking faculty with expertise in applied linguistics teaches the intensive Spanish language course using the communicative approach. The course focuses on listening comprehension, oral comprehension and expression and grammar.

A Medical Spanish Immersion Program and a Spanish Language and Teaching Assistant Placement Program is also available in summer.

Buenos Aires has a thriving cultural scene where drama, music, painting and sculpture have flourished. The city's young, cosmopolitan image and diverse, colorful neighborhoods make Buenos Aires a fascinating, exciting and welcoming place to spend your semester or year abroad.
