"Ministry visits and guest speakers made the program really interesting and CIEE organized some great trips. My language skills improved, I got to travel more around the Middle East, and I definitely have a much better understanding of Middle Eastern politics."

"I learned a lot about Europe and its cultural diversity. I also learned how to live and travel in a new country that was very different from the US. "

"I made amazing friends and had experiences I would never have living in a small college in Wellesley, MA. I was also able to attend career events that would not be available at Wellesley and interacted with potential employers. I was always happy and motivated because London is an amazing city with amazing people. "

"Essentially, I got a fairer education outside the classroom than I did inside it. The format of General Course (finals = 100% of final grade) was an extremely difficult pill to swallow -- and one I'm still not satisfied with -- but the overall experience was worth it because now I have friends from three different continents tha..."

"Broadened sense of the world "

"I learned that I should be grateful for the opportunities I have had education-wise, because clearly many other American students are not nearly as well-informed as me. I know this sounds elitist of me, but when someone, for example, asks if Margaret Thatcher was an actress (and believe me, comments like that were very common in..."

"I made a lot of new friends. The UK education is very different from US, its a little more strict and requires a lot more writing."

"My spanish did improve and I know know the differences in the spanish spoken in different countries, I know infinitely more about Argentina than before I came, and I got to travel around Argentina and a bit around South America, and it's interesting to live in developing country."

"I learned a lot about the history of Europe and about our development as a country. It was definitely worthwhile. I traveled a lot throughout Europe. "

"I gained a great deal of confidence and undeniably improved my command of French. I'm very glad I went to Aix for the semester--the pace of life is relaxed and slow, and I really felt that I enjoyed life. Lovely food and the beautiful weather."

"The experience of being abroad in general is so worthwhile, and exploring it all in a different language and culture is just insanely beneficial. No matter what your major, life direction/career path, whatever, living in a country where you really need to change your focus is soooo helpful. And you won't know it until you get th..."

"I feel that at Oxford I honed my academic skills. I can now absorb and process information and produce work with an efficiency I never thought possible. Additionally I had an amazing social and cultural experience. "

"French language competency, college credit. Many other things, I had a wonderful time."
Rachel S Wellesley College
"It was generally worthwhile, although what I really enjoyed was having the time to travel rather than the program itself. The two six-week long breaks and the limited class time commitments meant I could go a lot of places. I went on Mediterranean cruises (go with a lot of friends if you do--it's more fun and cheaper, and it o..."

"I learned from Hungarian professors, who teach in a very different way than American professors do. Hungarian education, in general, is very different from American education, so it was a very interesting and educational experience. "

"This was absolutely worth it. Please note that I write this review as a full year student; I can't really speak to what I would have gotten out of just one semester. Language-wise, I doubt I could have had a better program. The modern standard Arabic professor is easily the most incredible Arabic professor any of us had ever..."

"So many things about myself....but really that the world is such a big place...i also learned the influence of America, it was shocking "
A student Wellesley College
"My study abroad experience was more than worthwhile. I grew up a lot, learning how to take care of myself in simple and challenging circumstances. My time abroad wasn't easy and it wasn't always fun. There were times when traveling was more difficult than it was enjoyable, but it was always a valuable experience. I learned above..."

"Just living abroad was great. The Wellesley community, while great, can feel so small sometimes, and it was absolutely fantastic to live in a big city. I never realized before I went abroad how much I needed it and I feel like I've gotten so much more independent from the experience. "
