"Absolutely. I gained new friends and better self-knowledge, especially about my post-collegiate life. "

"I think my study abroad experience was worthwhile. I think I could have worked harder on my Spanish, but I did gain a different perspective on life/culture in the United States and abroad. "
Sarah O Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about Scottish literature & history; my courses explored a lot of questions & concepts that I have studied in the states, but applied them to a new landscape, which allowed me to learn a lot. I also grew a lot just by living in a new city in a more independent way than I am used to."
A student Wellesley College
"Yes definitely. Although the quality of education was lackluster and much better at my home institution, everything else i gained from the experience made it worthwhile. I had the best year of my life being in London. "
Sharel I Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about Spanish culture and Spaniards and I would not trade the experience fir anything."
A student Wellesley College
"Living in a foreign country has made me more self-sufficient and more outgoing. I think by making me realize that my time in a certain place was limited, it forced me to do things that I would've had reservations about doing. Additionally, it was my first time in that continent and I feel that from that experience, I see it as..."
Annie Z Wellesley College
"Yes. Living in another country - not just travelling in it, but living - is a very unique experience, and rewarding."
Faye B Wellesley College
"It was interesting to see how big universities run classes. It was also interesting to be in a co-ed school. My instructors were really excellent. I wish that they classes had met more often so I could've learned a bit more. "
Margaret Olmsted Wellesley College
"I learned alot of life lessons from my experience abroad, met life-long friends in the program, and improved my French skills tremendously. For these reasons, not for academic reasons, it was very worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"Though the classes weren't necessarily the greatest, I loved London (the museums are incredible) and the friends I made there were amazing."
Ashley L Wellesley College
"yes. I loved Whitley and the community I formed here."
Angelica R Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile because of the language component, and the places I got to visit. It was interesting because I got a different perspective on environmental studies."
Julia W Wellesley College
"When I first arrived three months ago, I had little confidence in my ability to thrive in a new environment that required a large amount of independence, maturity and willingness to take risks. Moving to Copenhagen for four months threw me far out of my zone of comfort and familiarity. Beginning when I stepped on the plane in..."
Linnea J Wellesley College
"I learned a lot about European history which I was not aware of before-hand, and it was interesting to see the way that the things we would learn in class (such as my sociology class or immigration class) could be applied to the daily life in Greece."
Dechen Bhuming Wellesley College
"I learned how to put myself in an uncomfortable environment and how to make myself uncomfortable. It was definitely worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"It has changed my world-view of global politics and American involvement drastically. I was also there during the elections, so that was fascinating to see! "
Claire A Wellesley College
"I think that my study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile! I learned to love a culture and country that I did not know much about prior to studying there. I think that it helped impact my cultural awareness, and helped broaden my already established interest in Europe's history and politics. This experience guaranteed th..."
Nia P Wellesley College
"I learned the most from Spanish friends. The PRESCHO group hung out too much with themselves and not really branching out. The PRESCHO office in Cordoba was amazing--Eva, Encari, Maribel, Martha. I would like to go back to Cordoba sometime. I'm so glad there was the orientation trip, but I wished that was later in the program be..."

"a greater sense of self"
A student Wellesley College
"I learned that other schools do things different from Wellesley so we don't have to take things we don't like about Wellesley at face value because we can try to change them, because other schools are doing it. I.e. a more active college government, more active social life and activist culture"
A student Wellesley College
"The experience was worthwhile. I learned a lot about myself and how to embrace different cultural experiences."
Michelle C Wellesley College
"Absolutely. Everything is worthwhile. One should learn from everything, and I certainly learned from this."
Katherine F Wellesley College
"I learned more about myself on this adventure than anything. Completely alone in a new place, I learned more and more about my own ablities and the country from which my ancestors came. I also learned how to cook, which was fantastic. I also picked up a global view and was able to see American from the outside for the first t..."
Rhiannon M Wellesley College
"I learned what it is like to be a foreigner and how to both cope with and assimilate into another culture. It helped make me more independent and willing to get outside my comfort zone. I met all kinds of people and saw beautiful places. Definitely a worthwhile experience. "
A student Wellesley College
"My spanish improved drastically and my classes helped me to understand the importance of the european union in a global context and think about it on a scale similar to the political goals and challenges of the USA."
