"I am still glad I went abroad because I had some invaluable life experiences and got to do a lot of travelling. I think that in concept, this program is a great opportunity for pre-medical students, but the university accommodation needs to be fundamentally changed. "

"My mom wanted me to come back to Korea for a semester because she wanted me to be set with my future plan after graduating from college. She wanted me to be set on the place I would like to stay and have a job. I learned that during 8 years of studying in the United States, I changed much, and I feel much more fit in the Ameri..."

"I'm glad that I went abroad, but I'm even happier knowing that I'll get to return to Wellesley. I feel as if I generally liked the program more than most people in my group, but even then, I had a very hard time adjusting to the social atmosphere because of lack of commonalities. I expected a different group of people, thinking ..."

"I did improve my Japanese. I learned it is very hard to meet local Japanese people. I also went out to experience Japanese food, sights, and different places, and also visited many contemporary art museums. I'm not sure it was worth my time because I was expecting to learn a lot from the Middlebury courses but I did not. I also ..."

"I learned how to live completely on my own, deal with maintenance issues, buy food and household goods, set up a bank account, cook, and manage expenses. It was worthwhile to learn these things. "

"I learned to be independent, but I think I could have eventually learned this later in life without wasting a semester of college/ "

"Honestly I loved the friends I made both within my program and the locals. Was worthwhile professionally as I still love my internship, however that was done on my own accord. Additionally, I got to leave the U.S. which was a first and so transformative."

"Learned to live in a city, but really difficult social culture. Wouldn't do it again."

"I don't feel like I gained much academically. "

"It was worthwhile because I am a more resilient and resourceful person. I had alot of time to reflect and learn about myself. Like all bad experiences you end up learning alot and growing stronger. While there were some good things, the landscape, and some friends I made, the art I pushed myself to create, on the whole it was a ..."

"That I want to pursue psychology and not art for the time being. That was probably the only useful clarity that I gained, but it wasn't worth the months of wasted time."
Sara Cooper Wellesley College
"It was definitely a worthwhile experience, but ONLY because my school stepped in and moved me to a different program. If I was stuck with the AKP, it would have been the most scarring and miserable academic year of my life."
Nichole B Wellesley College
"I highly recommend for those looking to explore Tokyo/Japan through study abroad; however, if you even have a slight interest in academics and learning, this program disappoints."

"I learned that I could take a semester off from school while still getting credit by attending this host university "
