"I learned that I prefer interaction between humans more than learning knowledge by myself. Also, I've realized the importance of self-learning on a topic that really interests me. "

"I learned how to initiate and keep a conversation going with strangers."
Alice L Wellesley College
"I loved Cape Town. I learned a lot about issues of race and racism in the transnational perspective. I loved my homestay families, and I had a lot of amazing experiences."
A student Wellesley College
"The experience was nice because on either side of tel aviv I traveled in North Africa, the Middle East and Europe. If i had solely done tel aviv I would not have enjoyed it as much"

"A better college experience"

"I learned more about other cultures and saw many sights "
A student Wellesley College
"Of course, I learned a bunch of academic stuff. But I think the "life lessons" I learned were much more worthwhile. For example, I'm a blonde/blue-eyed/white girl from Minnesota. I'd never left the U.S. before this trip. I'd never had the experience of being The Other. I'd never been constantly stared at/made to feel like I did..."

"I truly learned a lot about myself and what makes me happy. It may not have been the most amazing three months of my life but I would say it changed me for the better."
Catherine E B Wellesley College
"I learned that knowing English is a privilege and sometimes even being American is a privilege. English is everywhere. White people are loved everywhere. Brown and black people tend to be ignored. Sure, I guess."
Arianne W Wellesley College
"I depended my knowledge of Spanish, local Spanish culture and history, and my own self-confidence and global thinking. It was worthwhile in these senses, but who knows- I probably would have experienced the same things if I did another program somewhere else. The program was great but I just wasn't satisfied with my time in Spai..."

"I learned how to be assertive in French (which is very necessary) and the historical background of the Provence region, which I really enjoyed."

"I learned a lot. I took a really interesting course on AI, Culture, and Society that is not yet offered at Wellesley so that felt worth it. I learned to manage urgent priorities better. I got to spend time outside of traditional study spaces. "
A student Wellesley College
"It wasn't worthwhile, the entire experience was miserable."
Zhining D Wellesley College
"I learned how to study more independently without assistance and learned how to cook. "
A student Wellesley College
"I learned how to roll with the punches and how to survive living alone. Though I spend a lot of time working on class assignments and really put in a lot of effort in that area, I feel like I didn't really learn much. I learned how to budget my money and how to plan successful trips. I learned how to travel alone and to feel saf..."
Ilana Wellesley College
"Over the course of the trip I learned what I can handle and what I can't handle. I was able to clearly establish my comfort zone and stay within it with no guilt whatsoever. I only did what I was comfortable doing and I always moved at my own pace. I learned that it's ok to establish my own boundaries and stand by them. I also l..."

"Learned about a different culture and had the opportunity to visit Europe. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was good in a sense that I actually got to know the real side of this city"
A student Wellesley College
"I did learn some cultural differences through my host family. My French level did improve a little but not as drastically as I had hoped."
A student Wellesley College
"I got to travel more than I expected and I have a fabulous internship, but honestly I feel like it was a waste of time. The quality of education here is no where near what it is at Wellesley and the fact that the program goes into June is ridiculous and cuts out a fair portion of summer internship opportunities. "
Grady B Wellesley College
"It was an interesting, but not necessarily worthwhile experience. I am somewhat glad I experienced it, but I am not pleased with the monetary cost it took to have it. I felt constantly out of place in Berlin (as an American and as an Asian) and I was incredibly disappointed by the fact that we were not able to take many/most of ..."

"It was helpful for me to live abroad for a time so that I can have an awareness of cultural and continental differences. I felt it was important to study abroad so that my education would be well-rounded."
Jessica S Wellesley College
"I found myself surprised and sometimes shocked at French people's attitudes on things, which made me appreciate my own culture so much more. I do think it was worthwhile because it gives you a different perspective on how foreigners are treated outside their country. Being somewhere where people do not speak your first language ..."

"It was worthwhile, a unique experience. But could have been improved."
Helen W Wellesley College
"I feel that this experience provided me with an opportunity for personal growth. I felt that it was extremely challenging and did not meet my expectations for cultural and social experiences. "
