"I was able to have interactions with local students and have some travel which made the trip worthwhile."
A student Wellesley College
"I had a good experience abroad, but not because of my program"
A student Wellesley College
"I learned to be independent and how to handle my money. I also traveled a lot and gained new understanding of different parts of the world, so it was definitely worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"I gained new memories and experienced new things. It was worth it to travel but I would do things differently next thing."
Amanda Frazer Wellesley College
"I think the things that really stuck with me from abroad were more life lessons. I did a lot of things that I had never done before and I did them completely on my own, without a real safety net. I did a lot of traveling, I had to regularly cook for myself, and I had to figure out local transit systems on my own. I think that my..."

"I am not as worldly as I thought, people under stress become allies. Yes I think I was worthwhile, but better for me in the longterm than right now"
A student Wellesley College
"This program allowed me to better understand how to make the best out of situations. I wasn't satisfied with the academics or accessibility of cultural experiences in the program so I tried my best to relate to the other students and enjoy or field work. I also had the opportunity of going on a safari and diving after the prog..."
Jennifer S Wellesley College
"Europe is awesome. I learned more and had more fun while traveling in Europe, and would do more traveling if I did it again. I'd also be more out-going and force myself to make more (French) friends. With this program, a lot depends on the people you're with. I feel like I understand the French fairly well- and don't necessaril..."
Lauren C Wellesley College
"The experience gave me a lot of perspective on my education and life in the United States and made me grateful for so much that I think I took for granted. While I definitely appreciate that aspect of my semester abroad, I would not want to pay money for this experience again. I feel like that money and energy could have been di..."
Julia O Wellesley College
"I learned that I want to be a filmmaker and that I need to pay attention to my voice and what I want to say. It was good to learn the 3 act structure and a classical style of making a film (and experience some of the misogynistic attitudes prevalent in the film industry). I also had some of the best times of my life. The people ..."

"I learned a lot about myself from the independence of living abroad in a totally unfamiliar place. I think it was worthwhile but extremely challenging and sometimes too much. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile. Despite frustrations, it challenged me in new ways, helped me grow, and gave me more confidence to travel to different places around the world. I learned more about the Moroccan culture and people than I ever thought I would know, and I'm grateful for this experience. Plus I made some great friends while I was..."
Emily F Wellesley College
"It hasn't changed my plans but I have a new appreciation for German culture and media. I would like to keep the language skills I have acquired and improve on them. "
Shu-Yen W Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile to learn Spanish. That was my main goal and immersion is necessary to achieve that goal. It definitely made me realize that I hold some prejudices that I did not even know I could have. It was also a good respite from the rigors of Wellesley. It worked with my budget as well. "
Dorthea D Wellesley College
"I learned that I'm not very good at languages and feel uncomfortable when I don't know what's going on around me. But I did learn that I could get through it."
A student Wellesley College
"It was worthwhile as a travel experience, not as an educational experience. But the people are nice and welcoming. "
Deborah D Wellesley College
"I improved my Spanish writing and my comfort in speaking Spanish with others outside my family. I appreciate the program's opportunities to travel and grow my Spanish proficiency. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was fun! Especially the cheap and quick trips to nearby countries and cities."
A student Wellesley College
"it was worthwhile"
A student Wellesley College
"Definitely worthwhile. My whole year abroad was well worth it"
Julie B Wellesley College
"Yes. independent travel and backcountry experience"
Laura S Wellesley College
"I improved my Spanish, and also gained a tremendous amount of confidence in myself. If I can navigate taking finals, making travel plans, and going to the doctor in a foreign language, I can do anything in English. Yes it was worthwhile. "
A student Wellesley College
"It was not worthwhile. Administration was slow and I felt unsafe in the area surrounding my dorm (Max Rayne)."
C S Wellesley College
"I enjoyed living in Copenhagen with Danes and the chance to travel. Adjusting to or getting out of the aspects I didn't like taught me a lot about myself and my preferences. "
A student Wellesley College
"Yes and no. If I had been able to go to Syria, I think I would've found it to be a much more fulfilling experience, but then the grass is always greener. At the very least, I wish I had only done one semester here and gone elsewhere for my second semester abroad. My understanding of the Middle East as a region is much more compr..."
