"Yes, my study abroad experience was definitely worthwhile! This experience has strengthened my desire to continue learning Portuguese and pursuing academic pursuits in languages, because I see how useful learning languages really is."
Peter G The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a deeper understanding of the African diaspora and my own ancestry. After learning about Ghanaian culture, I am more apt to believe that it is the country of my ancestors and plan to follow up on this belief by tracing my ancestral lineage. I am considering doing my final internship in Ghana, if a clinical social work..."
Jacqueline G The University of Texas at Austin
"Yes, it was very worthwhile."
Joseph G The University of Texas at Austin
"My decision to travel was the best one I ever made, and studying abroad was a great medium for it. History books and guide books are no match for being right in the midst of a foreign culture. You notice that everything is at least subtly different if not drastically different. You realize what you like and dislike about your..."
Steven W The University of Texas at Austin
"I gained a new way of thinking about space, as America has so much of it and the Netherlands so little."
A student The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely worthwhile, more worthwhile than I could have imagined. My understandings, my cultural outlook, etc. expanded greatly, but most importantly I made some lifelong friendships and had a great time along the way."
Trent J The University of Texas at Austin
"Absolutely loved it. Suggest going abroad to everyone."
elizabeth m The University of Texas at Austin
"Completely worthwhile. I definitely became more independent and more willing to try different things that I wasn't used to. Had to manage my own finances and my time because no one was there to help me. "
Kelly H The University of Texas at Austin
"DEFINITELY!! I would love to go back and enjoy it all over again!"
Shannon M The University of Texas at Austin
"I had so much fun traveling on the weekends with the other students that I met. All the kids in the MPA program were really nice and we all got along. One of the classes was interesting and the other was painful, but didn't last too long. Overall I am extremely glad that I took this opportunity because I got to meet some fun peo..."
Nicola V The University of Texas at Austin
"I very much think it was worthwhiled. It was an experience unlike any other experience I have had. The differences were what made it worthwhiled. To experience a new culture is unlike anyhting else. "

Kelli R The University of Texas at Austin
"Lots of Spanish"
Jason G The University of Texas at Austin
"I am such a better person because I did this. I went to Valencia to learn Spanish, but I accomplished much more than this. I gained the best friends I've ever had and got to travel to France, Italy, Morocco, and all around Spain. I had the time of my life. "
Charlotte M The University of Texas at Austin
"YES"
Josh C The University of Texas at Austin
"Traveling without my parents is something I hadn't really done. I am much more confident in myself to get things done and organize things now. Immersing myself in a completely new place was a huge adventure. The friends I made and other people I met along the way totally made the experience for me. I had to be accepting of a new..."
Rebecca B The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned to take things as they come and enjoy every moment of life. It was definitely worthwhile."
julia.delay.50 The University of Texas at Austin
"Yes, yes, and yes. The Maori worldview is beautiful, and we should all take a lesson from them. The biculturalism inherent to their history was new to me, and it's nice to see a country that is trying hard to embrace it's indigenous roots and heritage. As far as how it's impacted me, I'd say that I better understand foreign p..."
Michael S The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned to be more independent and it was definitely worthwhile"
david.rassiner The University of Texas at Austin
"It was incredibly worthwhile. I spent an entire month simply listening and observing. Do that anywhere and you will learn a lot. Go to a foreign country with great traditions of choral music, a place with so much to say, and you will learn more than you could ever imagine you could. "
Laura M The University of Texas at Austin
"My study abroad experience was fabulous! I could not have asked for a better time or city to live in. My eyes were opened to another culture that began to feel like my own, despite the differences from my culture. I grew an even deeper appreciation for the Spanish language and have gained the confidence to use it much more of..."
Madeline E The University of Texas at Austin
"I learned a great deal about the cultural differences between the Netherlands and the United States and how they influence the social policies of each country. We looked at the advantages and disadvantages of different Dutch policies and why or why wouldn't they work for the American system. "
