"Independence of living in a global city and the opportunities to grow up academically and personally"
Yuexin Z Middlebury College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I didn't realize going in how helpful it would have been to be a part of a study abroad program, rather than directly enrolling. I sometimes felt lost, as UCL is so big, and London is so big. It would have been great to have a program to direct us in that first week or two, to help get my bearings. ..."

"I was able to take classes abroad that I wouldn't have been able to at Middlebury. I also met a handful of people who I would never have met if it hadn't been for my time abroad, and I became much closer friends with another Middlebury student who was studying at the same university as I was. I would say just those friendships a..."

Felix Y Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about myself as a person and as a student but I do believe that I didn't take much away academically. This makes me nervous for my senior year at Middlebury as the academic environment is much more demanding and rigorous. "

A student Middlebury College
"I loved being right in the heart of Europe. It allowed me to travel easily and learn about a culture I had not previously studied. I got a lot of exposure to the Czech culture by living in the heart of the city and wouldn't have done anything differently. "
A student Middlebury College
"I experienced a very different learning style, where students are expected to be independent learners. I was challenged by it, but it also helped me hone my essay-writing skills. I think my semester was definitely worthwhile."
A student Middlebury College
"Definitely a worthwhile program. My Spanish became fluent enough that people stopped immediately assuming I was from the U.S. My social skills improved a lot. I learned more about Cuba than most people ever consider."

"I gained a lot of knowledge about living in London, something I would like to do later in life. I learned about SOAS, a school I am considering for graduate work, and I gained valuable historical and literary knowledge on the country and continent that I am from (South Africa//Africa), something that I was lacking great access t..."

A student Middlebury College
"Great being in Europe. The program was disorganized, but it was awesome shooting on 35mm."
A student Middlebury College
"It was worth my while in every way imaginable. I learned to be self-sufficient, how to live away from home, how to cook, how to travel by myself and really enjoy it. I learned to be happy while being alone and how to live in a city. I met people that gave me hope for my future and made me smile until my face hurt. I felt so much..."
Elise B Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about the local culture and Australia in general. Also gained the confidence to travel alone and to work through uncomfortable/unfamiliar situations. Very worth it, both the incredible experiences and the more difficult ones."
A student Middlebury College
"I learned more biochemistry in one year at Oxford than I would have in four years at Middlebury (or any other American university). I learned a lot about the British and made many friends that I hope I'll keep in touch with. It was worthwhile enough that I'm considering coming back to Lincoln for a graduate degree."
