Improved writing and time management skills, (finally) learned to balance course work with friends and activities. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I don't think I can answer this question the way it is intended to be answered, as I can't really tell how much of my development can be attributed to Oxford itself or sheerly growing and maturing as a consequence of passing time, but it was definitely worthwhile. I learned an enormous detail, and have been inspired to pursue English Literature beyond BA level (hopefully in England!) A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
It was so worthwhile. I became a much better writer, editor, and scholar with all of the one-on-one attention of the tutorial system and peer editing, and the independent-learning way of Oxford. I loved how free I was to make up my own schedule for learning - going to whatever lectures I wanted to (I went to LOTS just because th... A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned how the world of academia operated, and I especially now understand how British school systems work, which is very powerful for me as I am going to academia. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned a new system. Had immense academic rigor. Made great friends. 100% worthwhile. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
adapting to different culture, definitely worthy Felix Y - Middlebury College View Entire Review
My year abroad expanded my world literarily, literally, and personally. It was more than worthwhile. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Learned a ton about English culture, but even more about American culture - I was their only American by the end of the year so I was the authority on all things American. I wasn't born in America so in the states I never considered myself to be that American, but this year I realized just how American I am. I also learned so mu... My benefits were mostly academic. I learned all I had intended to and more, made valuable personal and networking connections, and enjoyed my time away from Middlebury. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Academically it was extremely valuable. The people at Lincoln are great, and I look forward to going back as soon as I can. It is a great experience which I highly recommend. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I took a deep dive into aspects of English Literature I would have never explored otherwise. I gained a lot from the intensive tutorial system. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned to think in a new way and greatly improved my writing. Claire Moy - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I really liked the narrow focus of individual PPE courses at Oxford (when compared to Midd), it gave me much better insight into the topic than a more general Econ or PolSci class at Midd would do. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
This was a very valuable experience. My classes were challenging and interesting, and my writing skills improved considerably. I enjoyed the opportunity to explore Oxford as well as travel elsewhere in England and in Europe. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learnt how to do independent study. I learnt how to manage writing 4000 words a week and still have a life. I engaged with my subject in a very focused and in-depth manner, and I really enjoyed that. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
Definitely worthwhile. I think the best parts of the year were travel abroad and the friends I made. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned more biochemistry in one year at Oxford than I would have in four years at Middlebury (or any other American university). I learned a lot about the British and made many friends that I hope I'll keep in touch with. It was worthwhile enough that I'm considering coming back to Lincoln for a graduate degree. To read and write (all over again) and to appreciate history as an academic discipline. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
