"I learned a lot about myself as a student and how I need to learn language. "
Celia Ripple Middlebury College
"I had previously studied abroad for a year during high school. I perfected my Spanish skills there. I was excited to relive the experience I had on my own this time. I grew a lot and became surer of the person I am, something I previously struggled with at Middlebury. I was okay with the fact I do not feel particularly integrate..."

""Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves ... Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you wil..."

"The other kids in the program made my experience fun and exciting because my housing made it somewhat difficult to integrate with Danes"
Dustin W Middlebury College
"I am happy that I chose to go to Prague because I was somewhat naive to its eastern European aspect and the environment that I lived in there definitely gives me a totally different perspective on America and our history. If I had to reconsider what program I would go on, I think that I would have also looked into Copenhagen or ..."

"New Zealand isn't too different culturally from America. We speak the same language, which I think made my study abroad experience much easier than it would have been going to a country where I didn't know the language. But the culture is quite a bit different - everything is much more laid back and less goal oriented, which was..."

"French language skills; local friends; French culture; it was very worthwhile."
Yihao Ding Middlebury College
"I learned so much from my experience abroad, in so many ways. I greatly improved my French skills, but I also learned a lot about myself- how to survive and enjoy a completely different culture and environment. "
A student Middlebury College
"Absolutely worthwhile; I learned so much about myself, the places I was, and the subject matter of the program - however, this was largely due to my own personal drive/choices and the amazing students I was surrounded by rather than program-specific classroom time."
A student Middlebury College
"Yes it was, not for the schooling but for the experiences."
Emily A Middlebury College
"It made me really appreciate small school and made me realize that I want to continue school after undergrad and get a masters. Yes it was. "
A student Middlebury College
"I learned that, fortunately, in almost every major European city it's not too hard to find someone that speaks English. It was great to see the different cultures and to learn about our "cousins" (as they call us) across the pond in London. It was worthwhile and I would recommend it."

"I learned a lot about a new place and new people and made great friends. Yes. "
A student Middlebury College
"Studying in Paris was certainly worthwhile as it proved to me that I am capable of alternate methods of learning, and that my ways are not the only ways. It allowed me to look critically at the way I live and learn at home and gave me the confidence to interact in a new space in an unfamiliar language. Lastly, I learned how to r..."

"As expected I learned a lot more about the subject of mathematics and the difficulty of graduate level coursework. It is worthwhile. "
A student Middlebury College
"My time abroad was worthwhile. I loved the people I was with and the people I met. However, I cannot get over the block that I am a student first, and as a student the program somewhat failed me. "
A student Middlebury College
"I learned how to power through discomfort and feeling different! "
A student Middlebury College
"Great to understand other cultures because you find out what is really important about yours and what you like about it."
Jonathan B Middlebury College
"I think my biggest gain is to have learned how to live with/interact with locals in Delhi as individuals rather than view them through stereotypes. I learned to understand the ambitions and struggles of the Indian people."
Yuchen Zhu Middlebury College
"It was definitely worthwhile. I was able to explore the world in a way I never had before. "
Michael Maldonado Middlebury College
"I gained a greater perspective on how a truly international city operates. It was definitely worth it. "
A student Middlebury College
"Academics wise most classes I took were of genuine interest to me, especially the two related to gender. I also gained exposure to knowledge about Europe from a European perspective. My favorite part of the program has to be my internship, where I got to practice my German in a more "real-life" setting and put my different langu..."

"Yes, I learned a lot about my subject and my own academic needs. I know now that I don't want to attend graduate school for literature, because the solitary nature of that work does not suit me. However, I will carry the things I learned about England and lit in general with me for the rest of my life. "
Laura I Middlebury College
"A huge amount of information on climate change and issues of environmental justice, agriculture, and inequality. I had my doubts during the program, but it was absolutely worth it by the end."
Forest J Middlebury College
"I learned a lot about being in a new environment and settling down on my own. I also enjoyed most of my classes."
