To help with the funding of your study abroad, we have compiled this list of scholarship opportunities offered by providers of study abroad programs and foreign host universities. In this directory you will see information from these organizations, which may help you fund your dream of study abroad.
Many other resources exist, including those from your home university, you should check with your study abroad office for a list of these. You might also consider how study abroad may impact your existing university Financial Aid package, as the cost of your education will change.

1 scholarship available across 9 programsAsia Exchange wishes to encourage students to study abroad in Asia. We award several 500 USD scholarships every year.

Spanish Studies Abroad
1 scholarship available across 9 programsWe offer two scholarship options for students attending our regular academic programs in Spain, Puerto Rico, Cuba and Argentina (this does not include faculty-led programs). You may submit an application to only one scholarship: Merit-Based or Diversity. Students may apply for the Merit-Based or Diversity Scholarship prior to their acceptance in an SSA program, but only accepted students may receive a scholarship. *Please note: Spanish Studies Abroad Scholarships cannot be applied to program costs, including tuition. Scholarships are meant to offset extra expenses while abroad, such as flights, gifts, entertainment, etc.

International Business Seminars / IBS
4 scholarships available across 9 programsThe NIU Study Abroad Office is offering two $2,500 scholarships directly to Northern Illinois University students to use exclusively on the IBS Summer China Seminar. These scholarships come from fund donated by a private donor. See the NIU Study Abroad Business Office (408 Williston Hall) for more information.

The role of an IBS Digital Ambassador is to creatively share your experience for future marketing and recruiting purposes. The ideal digital ambassador will be willing to try new things, step out of their comfort zone and candidly share their experience with others. No blogging or video creation experience is necessary, but it may be helpful! Photo/video tips and suggestions will be provided to help guide you. We encourage everyone who is interested in this type of experience to apply. Note that the application is to submit an entry video to scholarships@ibstours.com

Our Undocumented Student Support Scholarship (USSS) was created for undocumented students who want to attend an IBS virtual seminar. These awards go to students who are interested in better understanding the business world, interacting with executives at global companies, and networking with students around the world.

The Founders Scholarship was created to support students who want to attend an IBS seminar and have an additional financial need. These awards go to students who are actively finding ways to finance their program with IBS and have thoughtful personal, professional and academic goals for their time abroad.

AMIDEAST
2 scholarships available across 9 programsAmideast Education Abroad students are selected to act as a "correspondents" for our semester and summer programs. These correspondents submit multiple blog entries while developing travel and creative writing skills. Students also critically reflect in writing on their education abroad experience with Amideast.
$1,000 (semester) or $500 (summer)
Amideast Education Abroad Need Based Scholarships are awarded based on the student's financial need, and can be given up to $3,000 for summer programs and $5,000 for semester programs. Awards may be disbursed as a tuition reduction, one-time bank transfer, or equal monthly on-site cash payments.
