Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"One of the best decisions I made while in Seoul was to actively seek out a new experience every weekend, whether it be to go hiking, see a show, or just explore a new area of the city. Along with that, while living off campus was not planned it did provide me with a feeling of further immersion within the city. I was able to est..."

"I learned how to embrace the challenge of each day and find a way to conquer it. I realized that I won't have any days that I can simply turn on auto pilot and just live. I needed to find new ways to live every day and for a while that was frustrating, however I eventually realized that this situation wasn't permanent and eventu..."

"I learned a lot about Gothic art (one of my two classes), as well as a lot about London and British culture. Overall I loved my time abroad, especially the traveling part of it, but did not feel totally fulfilled by my academic experience. Most of my favorite experiences came from time outside of class, exploring London and trav..."

"This study abroad was most definitely worthwhile. The friendships, time management, and travel skills I learned while I was abroad are irreplaceable. I also learned a lot from my courses. "I gained a work ethic. I gained a sense of how to assert myself against hard-headed powers to get basic information that I needed. On a positive note, I gained some life-long friends as well. Overall, I would say the friendships and travel experiences made it worthwhile, but the biggest drawback was the university itself."
