I learned about Scottish traditions and got to compare the way they live life to the way we do in America. I would choose a different program, perhaps in a larger city, if I had to go again. A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
The experience is definitely worthwhile. I learned a lot more in the different ways of being independent. All while still studying hard for my degree, of which gave some new light on what (chemical) engineering looks like, as a student, in other areas in the world. I gained a much stronger sense of self-efficacy and a new confidence in my travel skills and as myself as an individual. I gained a love and a better understanding of Scottish culture as it was and as it is now. I was inspired greatly by my experiences in the cities and in the gorgeous land. It was absolutely worthwhile. Kirsten H - University of Maine - Orono View Entire Review

I learned so much about myself and where I want to go with my life. It was completely worth the tears, sweat, and money, for the all the smiles, laughs, and happiness that came out of it! A student - University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse View Entire Review
I absolutely love Scotland and Aberdeen! I really learned a lot about the differences between words and pronounciations with people from the United Kingdom and the United States. I was also able to learn about their values and what is expected of students, parents, and neighbors. I was also able to learn a lot about other cultur... For me, I think the issue was that I didn't get involved enough right from the beginning, so I missed my opportunity to become involved. Also, I wish I had gone to a bigger city. Aberdeen was nice, but I think I would have had more fun in Edinburgh or London. Laura B - DePauw University View Entire Review
As stated before, I would not trade my academic abroad experience for another. However, I would have liked to travel other places throughout Europe to further broaden my horizons and global outlook. Lisa V - DePauw University View Entire Review

I gained a lot of self confidence and became more independent. This experience really put my world view in focus and opened up my eyes to how things are different back home, both good and bad. Mariah K - Pacific Lutheran University View Entire Review
I learned a lot of tips about traveling abroad and now feel much more comfortable with traveling by myself, staying in hostels, communicating with locals, etc. Colby Rand - University of Maine - Orono View Entire Review
This study abroad was most definitely worthwhile. The friendships, time management, and travel skills I learned while I was abroad are irreplaceable. I also learned a lot from my courses. The opportunity to be integrated into a culture and to experience life on the other side of the ocean was unbelievable and will rank as one of... Perspective. I definitely gained perspective more than anything else. Coming back to Middlebury I was excited about my education for the first time since my freshman semester and I was well rested enough to step back and prioritize the things that I need and/or want to do. I can't say that I had any particularly world shattering... A student - Middlebury College View Entire Review
I learned to keep my mouth shut a bit more, which was definitely work while. I also feel a strong connection to the highlands and Scottish way of life, I have considered moving to Scotland or at least visiting frequently. Was it worthwhile? I greatly enjoyed my time in Scotland. The people there love their country, and love to talk about it. It was great to get to meet very kind locals who only wished that you would have a good time while visiting their country. Even though the US and Scotland seem to have very similar cultures, there were definitely differences... Skye B - Pacific Lutheran University View Entire Review
