Direct Enrollment/Exchange is a program provider offering 1869 abroad programs. Programs offered include Study Abroad, Internship, Volunteer, Intensive Language, Gap Year, Graduate Program, High School, Research, Online Program, TEFL Courses, and Adventure Travel abroad programs in 121 countries such as Spain, International Summer Schools, Turkey, and Slovakia.
Below you will find a directory of foreign universities and reviews from students who participated in an exchange, or in direct enrollment.
In a Direct Enrollment program, students have the option of applying directly to the university they wish to attend abroad. Students can go for either one or two semesters and apply using that university's application process listed for international students. Sometimes these students are called Visiting Students, Guest Students or Free Movers. At the foreign university, they will be supported by the university's office of international students, housed with other international students and have the opportunity not only to immerse in a foreign culture, but to do so with students from all over the world.
In an Exchange, you attend a foreign university and a foreign student attends your home university, a student swap for a semester or year. Your university will handle the details of the exchange, you just need to find the ideal foreign university. Hopefully the listings and reviews below can help you down that path. You will need to contact your university's study abroad department or your academic advisor for details on the exchange because the number of valid/active exchange partners may be very limited.

"I learned how to adapt to new living situations, how to interact best with people who came from different backgrounds and worldviews, it was definitely worth it!"
A student Indiana Wesleyan University
"Since my experience was cut off by a pandemic, any lessons I might have learned were instead replaced by the simple rule that you shouldn't take any experience for granted. I delayed some museum trips and other experiences because I thought I still had three months left. Living on a budget and planning for the future is good, bu..."

Samantha SUNY - Stony Brook
"I learned how to consume and synthesize large amounts of literature along with drafting up essays very quickly. The experience also taught me how to interact in a very international student body, with many students at different ages and on very different academic tracks and experiences than my own. It also taught me how to be an..."

"This was a great opportunity to experience Paris and travel. The classes are not as vigorous as Wellesley, but the professors are nice and courses are interesting. The best thing about AUP is the location. It is located in the 7th arrondissement, and the apartments are not too far. I was also able to travel a lot and experienced..."

A student Wellesley College
"This was absolutely worthwhile. I learned about how much I'd grown since coming to college. I was able to be more independent and live in a city I'd always wanted to live in. I made lifelong friends, became closer to family living in the area, and got to solidify what I want to do in the future."

"I loved being centrally located in London. The city itself is just so amazing with so many things to do and see! I had so much fun exploring the city around me. I had a great time at UCL. I liked my coursework in EU Politics and IPE, which I didn't have back at my home institution. "
A student Wellesley College
"I loved London and UCL, but not nessecarily for the academics. I had some world class professors, second-to-none, but going from Wellesley (small school, nice profs who care, etc.) to a large public university with your entire grade based off of one paper, was challenging. Being in London was great - I explored so much, took bud..."
